<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Krazygreen:</div><div class="quote_post">this is why i would never consider someone like you a laker fan, kobe is injured, if he werent injured, hes the best all around and most exciting player in the league, just like we saw LAST SEASON, and the kids not even in his prime yet man...KG is in his prime, hes good, the best AT THIS TIME, sure why not, but kobe is MR. Clutch, he does things that we havent seen since JORDAN, i mean seriously, there have been player after player after player compared to Jordan, but how many consistently have produced like him? grant hill failed, penny failed, stackhouse failed, vince carter failed, allen iverson failed, harold miner even failed, but kobe, kobe has been consistent...not only does he shadow him, but he plays at his level, with his greatness and his heart and his mindframe to WIN. Tmac stands around and laughs during a 20 point loss in the OT? come on, what kind of heart is that?</div>
This is WHY I consider myself a true Laker fan, I am able to remain level headed and not make obnoxious comments like most front-runner Laker fans tend to do. Kobe isn't even the greatest Laker of All-Time. I've been a Laker fan for over 20 years, and I'm positive I've seen a lot more games than you have.

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting PupMelo:</div><div class="quote_post">I think Kobe is REALLY close. I know he isn't the best this season because KG has been and he's gonna get the MVP award. But, Kobe has been amazing. Over these past two seasons, he has basically made Shaquille "always-first-option" O'Neal and every one his supporting cast and he alone helped the Lakers win a lot of ball games. And, Kobe has got nothing to prove (well, besides off court issues) on the court. </div>

Kobe is the best at his position IMO, but KG and Duncan are clearly the two overall best players in the league...there's really no comparison at this point imo

I agree being a Laker fan has nothing to do with wheather someone thinks Kobe is the best player or not. I am one of those people who do believe Kobe is the best in the league, but I can completely agree with why other people believe why other guys like Garnett and Duncan are the best.

Damn this is a hot t, 40 replies and this topic started a little over an hour ago..

I still believe that Shaq could be the best player in the league, clearly the most dominating. It would be scary to see what he could do if he put some work in in the offseason.

shapecity showed why he is the best Laker fan at JBB and would never carry that famous "Laker Fan" tag that a very large % of Laker fans really do.

Yeah, I guess he could start by practicing on those freethrows a little more often? For years I've heard he has been working at it, but it obviously hasn't been enough. I honestly don't believe that he really spent a whole summer working on freethrows a few seasons back.. No one can be just as bad as they were before after that much practice.

ok true, but seriously, is he not the most hard working man in the NBA today? while players like lebron james and carmelo anthony are getting hyped to be the next big thing, kobe is out there showing the world why he is still the MAN...and that is what im stating here, how much can kobe accomplish before he gets the respect he deserves??>

IMO- KOBE is so UNDERRATED ITS SICK

He makes them pretty consistently at practice but for some reason he can't make them come game time. We seen glimpes of him making them last year in the playoffs, or was it the year before?

Referring to me too? If so, ofcourse I do consider myself a huge Laker fan but I do also see things through eyes of others. I've said many times on this topic that players cannot be judged by one game, and also that players all have their own different kind of game, and you can't really compare that. People do have their own opinions, and I am one to believe that Kobe IS the best, as I've said before but I completely agree with and see why others think guys like K.G. and Duncan are better.

There is no shame putting the "Laker Fan" tag on my forehead or our's IMO. That's a true fan... well, some fans will be hyped and some will be laid-back. Those hyped ones aren't afraid to say "we're the best" those laid-back ones want to do the same but they're too laid-back they do this at home when noone else is watching them.

Yeah, you're right but you know what? You don't have to be literally the best, you can just be a Magic fan and say out loud "we're the best" to David Stern. Now that's my perception of a "true fan". It's gonna be a little misleading but there's nothing wrong with being proud of your team and exaggerate a little bit.

but in ur opinion....is he or not? is he not the player you love to watch the most? is he not the #1 ticket seller in the NBA, the #1 player fans love to watch, the #1 player that does the most exciting things in games...do i really have to brag about everything this guys accomplished, most all of you should already know what hes done in this league, hes brought back an era of basketball that has not been seen since the 90's. Love for the game and the passion and will to get better after every failure.

How is Kobe underrated? Compared to what? He is one of the top vote getters in the league, he's been praised for both his offensive and defensive game and has the accolades to go with it. The fact he is compared to Michael Jordan should be evidence enough he is respected. Kobe is a great player and I'd argue he's among the top 4 in the league. I have a lot of respect for Kobe's game, and he's my favorite player in the league. But I respect him enough to not label him "the best ever."

Only common fans blert out that type of stuff. No educated fan would say anything like that about their team.
