<div class="quote_poster">Quoting King James:</div><div class="quote_post"> shapecity showed why he is the best Laker fan at JBB and would never carry that famous "Laker Fan" tag that a very large % of Laker fans really do.</div> Trust me man, it ain't as large of a % as u think...most laker fans I know (ppl who ive in the L.A. area) are actually subjective fans...of course there is some bias-ness, but it aint no different than any other city...ain't any different than Cleveland I'll tell u that for sure Browns fans are crazy man....

He is the player you most love to watch because you are a Lakers fan. Do you understand that? I love watching J-Rich the most because I am a Warriors fan but you don't see me going around claiming J-Rich to be some great player. I like your enthusiam but it is possible to be over-enthusiastic.

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Rudeezy:</div><div class="quote_post">Well thats immature talk IMO. You know you're not the best so why say it? Are you that ignorant as to think your team is the best when they are clearly not? I'm not directing this at you.</div> Well, maybe I'm a little ignorant but I don't mean to be, it's just a great feeling to say it so it makes you happy (and piss some people off) ^^. It boosts your morale and confidence, but sure I agree the sentence "we're the best" are not meant to be taken literally, and I think it's cool not to be overly serious with anything sometimes... chill.

I definitely know he shouldn't be even considered the best ever, but I do think he can make a strong case on maybe the best in the league right now. Damn I keep repeating myself over and over in this topic, but IMO he is the best in the league and everyone has their own opinions.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Krazygreen:</div><div class="quote_post">but in ur opinion....is he or not? is he not the player you love to watch the most? is he not the #1 ticket seller in the NBA, the #1 player fans love to watch, the #1 player that does the most exciting things in games...do i really have to brag about everything this guys accomplished, most all of you should already know what hes done in this league, hes brought back an era of basketball that has not been seen since the 90's. Love for the game and the passion and will to get better after every failure.</div> #1 ticket seller? Wrong #1 player fans love to watch? Wrong again He does do exciting things and is a huge draw, he's also the player I would want taking a clutch shot for me, but contrary to your thinking he's not #1 to most NBA fans. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">An era of basketball that has not been seen since the 90's?</div> When was there ever a gap to be brought back between the Jordan Era, and the 2000's?

He's IMO a good player, but is not great, at least not yet, certainly not the best. But sure you can go around and claim him as a great player? Why not? You're definitely his fan and there's no wrong with exaggerating him a little bit. I will tell everyone that my girlfriend is the most beautiful girl in this world, I don't care if the public kills me for that, that's my opinion.
The Lakers sell out stadiums annually and have been doing so for over a decade. The Nielsen ratings were terrible because of the small market teams in the NBA finals. It has nothing to do with Kobe, and everything to do with the syndication larger cities have over smaller ones.

LeBron has sold more tickets on his own more than anyone in this league, and all the Lakers tickets aren't sold just because of Kobe. Much of it has to do with them being the 3-time champs, and many people still do come to watch games simply because of SHAQ.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Krazygreen:</div><div class="quote_post">Lebron james calls himself the King?</div> Uhhmm, no, if I am not mistaken, some t-shirt salesman gave him that name to make a good buck. The name stuck with him ever since. You done yet?

In the real world, I don't think he really cares if anyone calls him King or not. LeBron and Carmelo, in some ways, also save the NBA because ratings are going up since the duo came into the L. Sure, there were already Tmac, Kobe and other stars but their rivalry is one that we fans haven't seen in a long time, it's a friendly, old-blood and headband rivalry and new generation XX baby!

Come on, if the guy had some respect for the veterans of the league, he would take all fo that ridiculous clothes off and stop trying to shine himself in the spotlight, Lebron is what we call in my economics class a "marketed Athlete" good for making money with endorsements.

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting King James:</div><div class="quote_post">"King James" was being used a long time before he was drafted. Next?</div> haha ya it was a nickname, nothing big at the time, but its a global frenzy now, hes dubbed the king in commercials? the chosen one? he participates in these activities, he obviously understands they are calling him the chosen one and the king...do you understand the words that i am typing?? hes not a stupid guy, hes making over 100 million dollars, hell take any name and any roll as long as the money keeps rolling in. I could have hyped up Dwight howard in the start of the season, had him shoot 30 shots a game, average 40 minutes, play 3 different positions, call him king, and he will be the next "chosen one"...ya dig kid?
The entire state of Texas does not cheer for the Spurs. The Spurs also don't have the same historical following the Laker franchise has. The Spurs are a small market team in comparison to the Lakers and they don't have the media presence Los Angeles has. The Nielsen Ratings spans 70 countries, and most fans from foreign countries are not familiar with the Spurs or Nets, which attributed to low ratings. Besides it has nothing to do with Kobe, so why mention it? If the Rockets made the Finals, they would probably have the highest ratings ever because of Yao's support from Asia, does this mean Yao is the greatest of ALL TIME, since he is the best entertainer based on the Nielsen ratings? Yes if Sacramento, Minnesota, Memphis, or Denver make the finals the ratings will be low once again. But we won't know what those numbers are because the Lakers will be in the Finals this year.
