<div class="quote_poster">Quoting JLee348:</div><div class="quote_post">I will just say this.... I know Kobe WILL be the greatest of all time. I watched him grow up with the Lakers. When I've watched him play and have seen that fierceness and competitive nature in his eye, I just knew that only a couple of players(MJ, LBIRD) had that in them. I know that Kobe is also underrated because he should not be compared to T-Mac, VC, AI, or LBJ. He has reached up to another level where only the greats have been and therefore should not even be mentioned with those names but should be mentioned in the same breath as MJ, Joe Bird or Magic. In about 15 years, I guarantee that Kobe will be known to have been the GREATEST PlAYER TO EVER LIVE. I'm not saying that he has made the impact that MJ has made because the NBA was virtually dying during his time but revived it with his God given amazing talent. Even with his legal issues and surgeries, he still managed to jack up 22 5 and 5. 2002-2003 was just a preview of what is to come when everything in his life gets settled. Mark my words....KB will be the best. 40 in 9 games...youngest to 10000...8 three's in a half....9 straight threes...42 in a half...56 in 34min(but this was 01-02.....top 2 plays of the 2002-2003.</div>This is the most biased post I have seen in some time.....You KNOW Kobe will be the best of ALL TIME ???
Come on man, think about what you are saying ....Let me put it to you this way ....Kobe would NOT have ANY Rings, if it were not for Shaq ....Shaq is the diffrence maker , and the most important player on the Lakers when it comes to winning rings ....Jordan did it WITHOUT a dominate big man....He put the Bulls on his shoulders and carried that team to 6 Rings ....His supporting cast was no where near the supporting cast that Kobe has ....You put Shaq with Jordan , and they would have won 8, maybe 9 rings together ...

Kobe will never be the player Jordan was ....Never in his career will he top what Jordan has done ......Kobe is a great player ...But IMO , i think Shaq can win a ring without Kobe ....While Kobe will most likely never put another ring on his finger once he leaves Shaqs security blanket he gots wraped around himself ....Mark my words ...UI don't care what team he plays for ...If he leaves the Lakers and Shaq ....He will never see another ring in his career IMO....

yeah i thought that was a biased answer.. i respect your answer but no way can you say jordan put the bulls on his shoulders to 6 championships with NO help whatsoever. The bulls had such great team chemistry and the players fit their roles perfectly. Unlike the lakers, they ALWAYS wanted to win, not to take anything away from the Lakers, who sometimes look like they turn it off. Now about the kobe and shaq remark, I think that kobe wouldn't have gotten the3 rings without shaq, but i also know that Shaq would not have gotten the 3 championships without kobe.

Look guys...There is no such thing as the best ever.

    MJ, had a great team.

Pippen did all the dirty work.
Sharp shooters from the bench, would be open and just shoot (paxson, etc.)

MJ has such a big impact, and the drama has been hyped so much, and there are so many memories, people get emotional when it comes to him.

But Kobe, he is facing so many better teams.

The bulls had the Knicks, they just played physical, they didn't have no offense.
Same with the heat. The pacers were reasonable.

The east was weak then also, and the teams they lost against were western teams like the Suns, Rockets.

Kobe has the same competitive fire, he has a great bank shot, is clutch, can use left, great defender, and is acrobatic.

The people who say Kobe will never be the player Jordan was...You people are just hard-headed. WHo knows what will happen? These predictions these experts do on sportscenter are so stupid when you think about it, because who knows what's going to happen.

Jordan in the 80s, was considered a great player, but many thought he will never win a ring...look what happened he dropped 6.

I have to go...But I have way more points.

The main thing is Kobe can be better than Jordan, or is equal.

I agree. MJ never had to face the McGrady's, the Carter's, the MJ's (For a while LOL), the Yao Mings (Patrick Ewing?? Haha)... Kobe has much harder competition than MJ had. If Kobe played during MJ's era (Prime that is) Kobe without a doubt would've been better.

dude are you crazy? the talent in the late 80's early 90's was phenominal

did you forget about payton, kemp, ewing, malone, stockton, drexler, hakeem, charles barkley, kevin johnson, larry johnson, larry bird, magic, isiah thomas, tim hardaway, reggie miller, david robinson, avery johnson in his prime, mark jackson in his prime, jr rider, glen rice, mugsy bogues, john starks, nick van exel, eddie jones, SHAQ, jason williams, alonzo mourning, man i could go on for days

the point is this, there was AWESOME talent that JORDAN and the bulls beat in the 90's.

But bear in mind, jordan was in his prime from 28 to age 36, so kobe could hit his prime in the next two seasons (kobe isnt in his prime yet!! hes only 25)

how the hell do you base a persons prime on his age?(no offense)
he could be in his prime now..i think nExt season will show it whether he is or not..since the case will have rested..the RING he's going to win on his finger..and a well earned summer vacation..and then KOBE will dominate the league..
