What happened in Philly? How do the Warriors get schooled by the likes of Dalembert and Aaron McKie? I know that McKie used to be a really nice player but 2004? I did not get to watch the game but was very disappointed to see the score. Your thoughts?
Well the game was really close- down by 2 at halftime. Things just broke down in the 3rd quarter. We only scored 4 points in teh first 8 minutes, but it was still something like... a 10 or 11 point game I guess. But the Sixers got a couple of long rebounds, leading to a dunk and an and1 layup... a couple of shots later the Warriors were down 20 and the Sixers never looked back. They drained a couple more threes before the end of the quarter putting us down by 30, and the game was over by then. Bright spots- Cardinal and Pietrus. Cardinal showed the early season shooting stroke he had, hitting 4/4- 11 points (he made 3 3's). Pietrus had 19, continuing to play good defense, but didn't have much help.
I don't know why, but Philly does better without AI this year. I guess the Warriors are mentally drained.

Nobody boxed out as usual in these losses, they didn't secure important rebounds, and they couldn't defend quicker guards against penetration against the zone. Every other quarter though they kept close except for the one they got in too deep to recover. Also nobody helped the point guard when he got caught in a trap. I thought that was stupid. Dunleavy and Johnson got picked off at least one time each for a fastbreak the other way. Also there were lots of poor passing. I think Dampier threw a ball over the head of Cheaney into the stands. That's how bad.
There was also a lack of execution- they went back to the stand-around, watch one guy play one on one type of game. Avery was forced to try to create every basket for the Warriors, and couldn't convert.

We need to do something about our transition defense- the lack of it killed us when the Sixers made their run in the 3rd quarter.
Also what about helping your guy if he's caught in a half court trap. I saw twice that Jrich was just standing there while Dunleavy and Avery Johnson had nowhere to dribble the ball or pass to someone. It was either call timeout, turn the ball over, jump ball, or back court violation.
Thats what you call defense. Keeping a team down to 6 points is crazy. I didnt expect it from a team like the Sixers. But hey. It happened. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Amazing that they can win 7 straight and than lose a game like this.</div> But then again. You cant take away anything from the Sixers. They won 6 straight home games before beating the Warriors.
I wouldn't really credit the Warriors' lack of execution in teh 3rd quarter to the Sixers' defense... we've seen offensive collapses liek this before by the Warriors, and it definitely wasn't due to good D from the other team. We just didn't run good plays and we didn't play good D (especially transition). I have to say that we gave teh game to you guys in teh 3rd.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting I3:</div><div class="quote_post"> But then again. You cant take away anything from the Sixers. Put them in the West and see how they do.
Maybe not. But with Iverson, a healthy Mark Jackson and Glenn Robinson on the team. I believe they're by far a better team than the Warriors. But honestly I though this game would be a breeze for the Warriors.

I think the Warriors are the better team. The Warriors WOULD be a playoff team in the East. Its kinda pathetic not making the playoffs in the east.
You got a point. But despite their recent sucess without AI. There are NOT a better team without him. Face it. I dont know whats going on. Mabye everyone is stepping up knowing that they're going to lose 30 points from one player. But like Snow said: <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">"He's the best player on this team," Eric Snow said after Tuesday night's 95-71 romp over the Golden State Warriors. "I don't see how you can say you're a better team without the best player on your team."</div>
No doubt in my mind he is the best player on that team and they need him to be a good team. I just hate the fact that he is so selfish.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting kobeonfire:</div><div class="quote_post">But who else does he have on his team to be a regular scorer? Aaron Mckie? I dunno about that..</div>Have you seen his recent tantrum? He decided he didn't want to play if he wasn't starting. The coach wanted to bring him off the bench after his injury, which is normal. Hell if Tim Duncan is man enough to come off the bench why shouldn't AI? He is a selfish player, a team player wouldn't act in this manner.

How can you explain the warriors winning the last 5 against them before this collapse??

As for Duncan coming off the bench. Duncan was out for a much longer time period than Allen Iverson. So it was only right if he came off the bench. On the other hand Iverson only missed 3 games. And why would Chris Ford even make him come off the bench when they had to play a team like the Pistons. But this is old. Anyways I believe Iverson and Ford was both wrong. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">If the sixers are really that great. And why are bringing up season games. The Sixers are 3-0 with the Spurs this season and we all know for a fact that the Sixers arent better than the Spurs. So in that case the Sixers are basically better than the Spurs. But we all know that they're not. To sum it all up. If the Sixers and Warriors have their full roster at 100%. I think the Sixers would come out on top at the end.
