<div class="quote_poster">Quoting crazytown:</div><div class="quote_post">Derek Fisher is not a true point guard. His career average is 3 assist! THREE! And he's had Shaq and Kobe for so many years. Youd' think he'd have more. He's NEVER averaged more than 5.</div> Derek Fisher is a true point guard. He makes good decisions with the ball, he knows who to get the ball to and when to do so. You saw that his entire career in LA, he knew how to run an offense. He doesn't average a ton of assists because LA usually ran their offense out of the half court with their superstars. Either the ball went in to Shaq who would post up or dish it, or it went to Kobe who would do his own thing. Those numbers don't mean he's a bad passer, he's just never been in a postion where he was able to put up big assits numbers. Anyhow, he could bring expierence, good decision making, and leadership to a young Orlando team. <div class="quote_poster">Quoting TMac_OwNz:</div><div class="quote_post">I could name a few ..Keith Bogans and DeShawn Stevenson , but they can't make the team better in defense just like that...just becuase of the simple fact that one is a Rookie and the other one Brand new to the team.</div> No. Stevenson and Bogans are solid defensive players and certainly aren't bad, but calling them GOOD defensive players or defensive ORIENTED players I think would be pushing it. They aren't players who can make big defensive plays, or players who can really fustrate an opposing teams player. That's the type of guy Orlando should be looking to aquire, someone who can lead by example on the defensive end.
Right Now.. Bogans is not a Good Defensive player.. But he will be that if hes givin the chance... <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Ranks #3 in the NBA in Steals Per Turnover(1.22) Ranks #5 in the NBA in Steals Per 48 Minutes(2.71)</div> ^ Derek Fisher is doing that on the bench.. I am sorry... But we need that.. And it's not hard for Derek to get the ball to someone, hes been a starter in LA till Payton came.. So I dont know why you can say he's not a true point guard.
To me Derick isn't what we need right now. Sure he's good and all but we need another Darrel Armstrong. A vocal leader as well as a physical leader. Can someone name anybody that can do that that the Magic actually have a chance of getting?

A LOT of people say that Bogans is going to be the next Artest..you need a lot of respect to play like Artest , with the Refs and with other players..give him next season to make a statement..then his 3rd season he could be a top 5 defensive player in the NBA.
