How is that overrated? He is the most domainat player on the court because nobody can stop him, not because he's Mr. Tough Guy. He's paied to dominate the paint, not to be some tough guy who can play through any injury. Nobody but Shaq can tell how bad his toe is. Sometimes the smallest injuries can hurt the most.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting spursfan2theend:</div><div class="quote_post">I think the most overrated player in the league is Shaq they say he is the most domninant player yet sits out with a baby toe injury. With the money he is making you would think he wouldnt be as soft as he is.</div> Shaq is overrated ?? .. Take a look at his right hand and tell what you think of the three shiny diamonds!
Iverson is deceiving because his numbers are low.... I think you have consider the fact that the low shooting percentage comes from a combination of him having to create shots at 6 feet tall and the fact that he shoots an awful lot.... But having said that, if he doesn't take about 25 shots per game he isn't doing his team any justice - he isn't giving them their best opportunity to win.... He could play a bit smarter, but the guy plays with every bit of his heart and you can't knock that....
The Kings of the Over and Underrated This Seasons most underrated and overrated players Over T-MAc - won the scoring title but man do they need hill and armstrong more than ever. Other Notables Steve Francis and Cuttino Mobley Michael Olowokandi - everyone wants him but he sucks Latrell Sprewell - actually hes been good this year Allan Houston - injury plagued and doesnt play defse Under Michael Redd - just starting to get respect, probably the best 3pt shooter in the league. Other Notables Sam Cassell - good for years - finally respected Wang ZhiZhi - not a big name, but he is get when he gets minutes Ronald Murray - explosive when given minutes
Michael Redd I would definitely consider underrated. No one I think realized that he was capable of those numbers. TMac I really don't think is overrated. It really isn't his fault that he didn't have a very consistent supporting cast. He put up good numbers night in and night out for the most part. So, I really don't see him overrated. Spreewell is another I don't consider overrated either. He has always put up very good numbers whether it was with New York, Golden State, or Minnesota.
Overrated: TMac: he is amazing, but people hype him up more than he actually is, like people can go overboard, even though he is really good. Ppl do not account him for his team, as if he's a separate entity. Granted he's good, at stuffing his stats but not making his team better. He deserves hype, but dont overdo it. Ben Wallace: Very overrated, they make him bigger than he is, this is because he's pretty useless until clutch time. He does nothing for most of the game, no offense, then when it hits last quarter, teams think he's not gonna do anything then he blocks someones shot. Very overrated. LeBron: Everything was LeBron, they made him out bigger than NBA players when he just entered the league. Gets a 100 million contract cumulatively for doing absolutely nothing in the NBA yet, everyone cheers him on, even in high school, where he didnt have to face NBA players, now in NBA cant bring Cavs to playoffs even in the weak east, having Ilgauskas with him, overrated dunker and boring to watch. He is a nice guy though, good attitude, but everyone really overhyped him. He got even more hype than McGrady initially. Underrated: Vince: When Vince plays amazing, everyone takes it as a given, if he starts to play just average, ppl bash him. If next year rolls along as an injury free year, some ppl will still say he's injury-prone, even if he proves he isnt. Also problem is coach KO has no offence. He expects Vince to get it done by himself, other teams know this so always triple team Carter, no one else can really create on their own except Rose once in a while. Its hard to score when you're triple teamed, Carter can handle double sometimes. Carter can go off like McGrady but trusts his teammates too much sometimes and assists them and they miss half the time. Then ppl account him for his teams misfortunate record, but dont account McGrady for his teams record. Zydrunas Ilgauskas: He is the reason the Cavs nearly got into the playoffs, not LeBron. If it werent for him grabbing up all the rebounds and the scoring ability, they wouldnt even make it that far. Lebron has good scoring, but when struggle you can always depend on Ilgauskas stepping up. If they lost Ilgauskas, they'd have alot more problems than losing LeBron. LeBron is just a marketing tool. Very overrated.</div> This just proves you know NOTHING of how important Ben Wallace is to his team, he makes an impact on defense, never allows guys to have anything easy inside, guys who attack the basket are worried about wether they can get a shot off or not. Your logic is the worse I have ever seen about a player being overrated. His scoring has increased and is very good on close in shots. Fact is the Pistons would not come close to being a top east team without him, he does things that don't show up on the boxscore. Ben is one of only 4 guys in NBA history to have four consecutive seasons of at least 1,000 rebounds, 100 steals and 100 blocked shots. Joining Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Hakeem Olajuwon and Sam Lacey who all did it three times. I don't know whats worse you saying Wallace is overrated or saying Vince freaking Carter is underrated. He is by far the most overrated guard in the NBA. So much hype and a guy who used to show plenty of heart and willingness to get to the basket, now all he does is settle for jump shots and his only highlight dunks seem to be on fast breaks. If big time dunks make you a star then Desmond Mason should be a hall of famer. There is a reason why Carter's best known for the nick-name Wince
