Y can't Stromile Swift play the 4, Marshall play 3 where he should, VC at 2, and Rose. i was just saying if we have to we could play Stromile at the center position, i don't want him to play center, i was just sayin. I totally agree with dj_premium_plus , Blount id the way to go. I was watchin the Raps vs. celts, and blout was killin us, he had like 24pts and had like 15rbs. i know it isn't that hard to do that vs. us but still he was plauin great. hes got good height, power, jumps, and can score, he rebounds well too. I AGREE we should really look at blount. ya, u are right the bender deal doesn't work, but i was just sayin it would be nice to have a player like bender. MARK BLOUNT is the way to go, who should our GM be and if KO id fired, who should our coach be?
Well its just that if Sto-Show is playing the 4 then Bosh is at the 5. Bosh is not a center, and will just get destroyed. We also don't want to get anyone that will take minutes from Bosh and hinder his progress. Also Marshall at the 3 I've been waiting ot see tha lineup with Mosiso starting at the 5 all year but its never happened. The things is that Marshall at the 3 is a huge defensive liability. You're right though we need a guy like Bender od Harrington, where we'l get one, who knows. Rodney White??
so if stro plays the 4 and donyell at the 3...where does bosh come in? off the bench? i dont think at this point of his development we should set him a few steps back by delegating him to a role off the bench. bosh could easily put in 2 more buckets a game and grab 3 more rebs a game, to give us 15 & 10 from him a night. if anyone should be commin off the bench its donyell at this point. he'd make an awesome sixth man, and could easilly be 6th man of the year. instant offense and rebounding every game. some games he could start at the 3 depending on matchups and he'd really give us depth.

And who is the main, some would say only, ticket-selling force on the Raptors? If it's anybody, it is Carter.</div>
Oy. I don't know exactly what's gonna happen, but we all know the team needs to be shaken up overall. We gotta keep 3 core players, Jalen, Carter and Marshall. They play well off each other, I wouldnt touch them for anyone right now. I really respect Alvin as Raps longest servin playa but he's been off the whole season... yea I know he's been injured but even when he was healthy for few games, I didnt see any effectiveness. With that injury, I doubt he can play like he used to couple years ago... Murray's gotta go, Mo Pete could be a strong consideration(altho I like him) if it's a matter of gettin a centre we desperately need. He's the prime example of inconsistency anyways. Nobody here can predict the future, so w/e happens, happens. But I really agree with that statement Vince made about Isaiah bein a "go-getter" and bein able to successfully shake things up in NY and bring the playoff days back to Madison Square. Hey, what about KO?
I think the core guys are Bosh, Carter and Rose, Marshall is important but can only be here as a sixth man not a starter because Bosh isn't playing C anymore. For the right players (preffrably a C), Marshall should be traded

Marshall is a solid player, and hes been great this season, but if we can't use him to his full ability (asuming Bosh starts), there isn't much of a point in keeping him, especially when we can probably get some good player(s) for him while hes playing well.
I'd like for us to try and pry either Etan Thomas or Brendan Haywood from WAS (or even both.) I think we should address our PG issues in the draft. Ben Gordon would be amazing (my first choice), Jameer Nelson would help (Damon Stoudemire pt. II) Raymond Felton would've been nice, had he declared, Seb Telfair might take a while to bank on, but his potential is HUGE, Shaun Livingston, supposedly the finest set of eyes since JKidd, Devin Harris and Chris Paul are other great candidates. In terms of spending flow, we don't have much wiggle room. We are probably looking at about 9-10 mill in relief, so we would be able to resign all of our marquee FAs to modest deals (Mopete 3 mil/year Roger Mason Jr. 2mil/ and Glover vet minimum) and have the MLE left over. That would leave us with the option to pursue another big body, another bruiser to help out Bosh. Maybe Mark Blount (if Obie will become our next head coach) would be available to acquire, seeing as he did not approve of the Celtics' management decisions this year and could opt out. If we could somehow rid ourselves of Lammond's contract we would be looking at some other oppurtunities as well.
totally agree with franchise...although donyell has had a great season as a raptor, hes much more expendable then bosh. we could get some solid players for him, or even trade him for a lottery pick the way jalen has been playing since he came back from injury, i really think we should keep him. not to mention the fact that he said "i want to call toronto my home" if there are 3 players we should hang on to, its VC, jalen and cb4
ya dj_premium_plus is right, we need some sloid players on this team, and if it means trading Marshall its gonna have to be done. But i don't like the idea of trading Marshall for a draft pick, it would have to be a early one. But we really need to get a center, that should be our main point this off season, to get a center. we can live with Rose at the point, even though we should really have a true PG, but we REALLY CAN"T SURVIVE without a CENTER!!!!!! Go after blount, dampier, camby, make a trade for someone, but we need a center for next season, that can play C and compete against the bigger C.But i don't think we should draft a big man in the draft to start or somethin like that cause they won't beable to play against the top center. if we do draft one it should be for the future, and we should have one anyway. This site ranks the top free agents coming up this offseason. http://nbadraft.net/egger004.asp and i was sayin before that we could have rose at pg, VC at SG, MARSHALL at SF, Bosh PF, and a true center at the 5, and have swift as the 6th man on the bench. Maybe we should take a chance at Crawford at PG, Miles, Barry, or Clark?
Blount does seem like our best option for a center. Besides, he wants out of Boston in a big way, and has said so to the media. Alot is said about the lack of a center for the Raps, but we need a real PG just as bad. Steve Nash is not coming to the Raps. Anyone who thinks he is needs to read some articles. The Mavs have already said they will not let him go. The draft is a good way to get a PG cheap, but the Raps need experience in the League. McInnis has done a great job in Cleveland, and I hope we go after him. If we can sign those two players, I think it's a positive. I also think we should trade Lamond and MoPete. Lammond because he's a baby, and MoPete simply because we need to change the culture of this team. I would also throw Alvin in there to. That would give the Raps a fresh new start. Whoever the new GM is, I hope he does a fire sale on the Raps lineup. Just keep Carter, and build a cohesive team for a change rather than just throwing 5 guys on the court.
I wouldnt be surprised if AW, Mo Pete and Lamond were traded like they should be...in the expense of Marshall, we should trade him for a good center, someone who offers his type of numbers, only bigger....many teams are eyeing Donyell and he can fill the space on any team in this league, many teams need double double guys like him... for sure the raps have to keep Carter & Rose and just build around them 2...whats lacking is a defensive minded center and i think Dampier would be a good fit...if not him then I wouldnt mind seeing Adonal Foyle because he can also hold his own....Bosh would make a solid PF, carter at the 3, Rose at the 2 and if we happen to get a good draft player (I.E- Ben Gordan) it will really help....But Rod Strickland would also make a nice starting pg...I wouldnt mind seeing Ben (if we get him) as a starting point guard, im predicting his rookie year will be equivalent to Dwyane wade's....but only time will tell....one thing is for sure, the raps need to make some major moves this season, which they havent really done in the past (singing Hakeem wasnt THAT big but resigning Carter was  ) Also, i htink we need a coaching change...Byran Scott, Doc Rivers etc are better choices, i think theyd do a good job here....me personally, i dont really like KO's style of coaching nor his lack of ability to manage minutes among the team....he lets one guy play 3 games in a row and then benches them for the next 15... on paper, the raptors have a pretty good roster right now.....but very undersized but with some creative thinking they could get an excellent and even bigger roster in the offseason... the biggest thing to remember is to take risks....make or break deals are the key IMO...
I agree about keeping Rose and Carter. I think that this team really just needs a change of pace. They just don't have any positive energy flowing through them. They haven't for the past couple of years. I thought when they announced KO as the coach, things would change. The fact that he's a head case doesn't help. He may know basketball, but he doesn't know people. Coaching is a combination. It's as much about managing the players as it is about Xs and Os. Doc Rivers is good, Mau Cheeks is good, but I would really love to have Jeff Bzeldiak (or however you spell it). I don't know if Denver is going to keep him or not, but I love his style of ball. I wouldn't even mind if he brought Camby back to TO with him.
Well Mo is gone since we don't have to sign him back. Alvin and Lamond can't be traded without packaging them with something valuable (Marshall), so if we want them gone we have to expect to lose someone we want too. I like the Mo Cheeks (probably going to Philly), Bzdelik (likely to stay) ideas, if we can get them. A lot of people are saying Byronn Scott and Doc Rivers, but they really aren't that great coaches. How about in addition to Mo and Jeff, Tony Brown, Jim O'Brien, Dwyane Casey, and Kevin or Magic Johnson. We also need some better trainers for our big men, it seems like we can never develop big men well. We don't want Bosh to get bad coaching so we can go after someone like Patrick Ewing or David Robinson. Maybe Hakeem Olajuwon , he can be a good coach but mann..

How dare you suggest to bring the "O" word back to Toronto I agree with everyone here about what we should do in the off-season. Sign a PG from the draft, get a center (preferably Blount, Thomas, Foyle, or Haywood), get a coach who can actually make use of the bench, and trade Murray if we can. I actually think that we should keep MoPete as well. Although he's been inconsistent, he's still a pretty good defender and I still think he'd be great coming off the bench. If it's possible for us to sign him for a decent contract, I say we should do it. He's been loyal to the Raptors so I don't think we should send him packing without attempting to re-sign him. As for a coach, what do you think of Eric Musselman?
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting norespect:</div><div class="quote_post">I think the free agent list is lacking, other than steve nash. Isn't ginobilli a free agent?</div> go to the link in the thread man. read and see which players are free agents, and see just how wrong you are on a side note...i had a dream that we traded jalen and donyell to the mavs for antawn jamison and danny fortson. then we signed mcinnis and blount. lol! imagine if that happend? we'd have vince and his best friend, teaming up with another one of their buddies from their north caolina days, and bosh and blount down low with fortson off the bench....that'd actually be a sick line up
Ahh, what a great dream, did we also get Adonal Foyle as our backup center? Their are a lot of pretty decent FA prospects, I just hope the Raps don't screw up and go after some super high priced guy while all the little ugys that could help us slip away. Hunter I'll Suceed We could sign Steven Hunter to a 500 000 (very small) contract and see if he can develop on our bench as our 3rd center, if so then good, if not then we didn't really spend anything on him so good. James not Wantedp <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Seattle SuperSonics backup center Jerome James has told teammates that he is not planning on exercising the opt-out clause in his contract and that he will be back in Seattle next season to complete the third and final year of his three-year deal. Many within and around the team were hoping that James would opt out, freeing the Sonics from the $5.4 million obligation they have to him next season and removing his corrosive attitude from the locker room.</div> Jerome James' name has surfaced a few times, and even though I thought he was opting out of his contract I don't know whats happening anymore. Seattle was looking to package him or one of their other overpriced centers with Flip Murray before so they could get rid of them but never got a deal going. He's extrmely lazy and foul prone, but his contract expires after next season if he doesn't opt out. I don't want him but if he can rid us of Lamond and bring us Flip that would be good, and his contract expires after next season unlike Lamonds.
i think we should have a look at troy hudson...if we can...i really like his game and he can really shoot it which aw and milt and rod lack. Also, he is quick and can get into the lane. However, if we can get Ben Gordon at the draft then nm
yo dj_premium_plus, your dream almost came true, the Mavs where interested in jerome will iams and Antonio Davis, they offered us Tony Delk and Antwan Jaminson for alvin williams, Jerome williams, and antionio Davis. we could of had it, but then glen traded for rose and marshall. i hope we get Mark Blount, and get a pg. we better do somethin this off season that will help the team.
