If you had a choice for your team now, would you pick Shaquille O'Neal or Yao Ming?

What was a laughable question a year ago isn't so funny anymore. In fact, I've been asking that question to NBA types over the last few weeks, and the majority have said -- though they begged not to be quoted -- they would pick Yao.

Of course! Yao has limitless potential. What the Rockets should do now is to clear cap space to give him a big contract in the future. Get him locked up for the next ten years and we got a championship team.

I'd personally choose him over Shaq if I'm to decide at this very moment.

Well anyone would. Yao Ming has limitless potential and is already becoming a star in this league in his 2nd season. Imagine what he could be like in 7-10 years from now. Shaq is without a doubt the most dominant player in the league right now however he only has a few years left in his system compared to Yao's 12-15. Its the years that they each have left that would force me to take Yao over Shaq.

Well if Ming could play everybody else like he did Shaq this year. He would already be a 25 and 12 player already. But yeah, I would take Yao over Shaq too now.

Can't wait for the LA vs Houston game. Shaq seems to bring out the best in Yao.

Yeah, I'd choose Yao too...Shaq has limited skills-he's a poor shooter, an average passer and doesnt play hard defensively...Yao has an assortment of offensive moves, is a brilliant passer and is quickly learning how to utilize his height defensively...Yao has progressed in leaps and bounds in such a short amount of time...
