a lot of these rookies come into the NBA claiming they will "save" the league, i mean seriously, the league is FINE as is, go back to high school you kids.

here is an interview that was conducted with Lebron James that DISGUSTS ME, makes me sick to my stomach, this is coming from a 19 year old who thinks hes already won 5 championships.

    INTERVIEW WITH LEBRON:

Dealing with sky-high expectations. "It's been easy. I'm not kidding. I pretty much created the hype by me playing this game of basketball so well. I've been able to take care of everything on and off the court."

Comparisons to Magic Johnson and Michael Jordan. "It's OK sometimes. You kind of smile when you're compared to those guys. That's a compliment. Then again, I'm trying to create my own dynasty."

Wearing No. 23. "The number is going to stay the same. I can't change this number. I've been wearing it since I've been playing sports, and that's nine years old."

Resentment from older teammates. "I'm a grown man. I was an only child. I've pretty much been an only child my whole life. It's been easy because I was ready, and because I think physically I was able to come right in and play. ... Now I'm pretty much the leader of the team."

How much missing the playoffs would take away from his accomplishments. "If we didn't have the bad start we had, we'd definitely be in the playoffs. But we've still overachieved this year. No one ever thought we'd be in the playoff hunt at this time of the year. We shouldn't hang our heads if we don't make it."

Whether he has exceeded his own rookie-year expectations. "I never overachieve."

This guy makes me sick, leader of his team? carlos boozer could EASILY throw up better numbers and have a bigger impact on this team then lebron if given the chance.

What a disgrace to be saying that #23 is his NUMBER, its MJ's NUMBER, i dont care if he came out of his mothers womb with a #23 jersey now, give MJ CREDIT FOR IT COCKY BASTARD

The GUY is 19 and hes calling himself a man? hes still a child

Doesnt want to be compared to magic or mike cause he wants to create his own dynasty? BOY with all the talent in the league as of right now, you will NEVER create a dynasty you fifty cent fabolos looking rapper EDIT -- SHAPECITY for profanity

Lotta guys wanted to become their own man. Such passion man. I don't think MJ would take offense to that like u did. I mean it's somewhat arrogance IMO. But it's confidence as well. U must of really hated Carmelo congradulated himself on the Espy's last year. Carmelo was just keeping real.

carmelo isnt trying to shine in the limelight like lebron

carmelo is all about basketball, hes 1 dimensional imo, he cant pass carmelo...hes an ok shooter (41%) and a good rebounder, but lazy defender...but again, hes a rookie, he will improve in those categories, lebron on the other hand, this guy has already dubbed himself the KING. ***** Him

Im gonna tell my ugly cousin whos coming to a club tonight with us to go around to random women and introduce himself as LEBRON, so i could see him get rejected left and right.

    MJ was cocky, don't forget.

i'm not quite sure what about the interview makes you so mad....you need to calm down, man.

Cavs without Lebron = no chance at making the playoffs.

i crap on all your comments, it had no relevance to my thread

basically, lebron james is a bastard who thinks hes owns the NBA, he should get fined and suspended for 8 games for thinking that. Plus, being the EDIT--Shapecity for profanity of NIKE, what a shame established stars such as vincanity have to take a backseat in the NIKE world because Lebron is sucking the hell out of his payroll

If you have the conception he is immature and cocky, then why do those statements surprise and upset you?

He has not given himself the title of "King," the media and Nike have created and endorsed the nickname for him.

LeBron is the leader of the Cavs, sure he was overzealous in the beginning of the season by trying to lead this team without paying his dues, but the attitude of the veteran players has changed. He has led by example and has gained the respect and trust of his teammates.

own identity? the way he talks, you swear he thinks hes kobe bryant.

Hes 19, maybe he should respect the veterans who have done SO Much for the game these past 15 years, and stfu with all this IM THE MAN, IM THE DYNASTY, LEADER, THE BESt, KING BS

seriously, im 100% right, its a respect issue for the vets who have busted their asses, and this kid who got a free pass to money, fame, and stardom

trust me, put all that hype on me, and i promise you i will produce like HIM, i will have no other choice, playing 40 minutes a game and shooting the ball 20 something times, id better average that many points, and rebounds, and assists.

    no relevance?

you talk about paying homage to MJ, when MJ was probably even MORE cocky and vain than LeBron will ever be.

you're offended by his youth and confidence when Kobe was just the same.

you talk about how shameful it is for Nike to put Vince on the back burner for LeBron, while LeBron leads his team to a possible playoff spot and Vince is getting ready for a long summer.

someone needs to look in the mirror for an example immaturity. go grow up and learn to put together a coherent argument before you start threads, k?

Ya and carlos boozer's 15 points, 12 rebounds, 49% shooting HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH IT, ZYDRUNAS' 15 points, 49% shooting, 8 rebounds has nothing to do with it, ITS ALL LEBRON, keep kissing his butt, just like everyone else who has jumped on the lebron james bandwagon

There is no one here doubting you that MJ was a great player. He was perhaps the best player that ever played the game and in my mind he is. However just because he wore #23 doesn't make it his number. He was a great player however there were a few players that did more for the game than Michael. If you don't want anyone wearing the #23 then you sure as hell better think that no one should wear the jersey numbers of Bird, Magic, Kareem, Wilt, Russell, etc.

The #23 is a number its not Jordan. If someone wants to wear #23 than let them. Lebron like Kobe isn't trying to be the next MJ. He wants to make a name for himself on his own. Can you fault him for this?

I think everyone wants to make a name for themselves and not follow in someone's shadow. What sickens me is people that compare these guys to NBA legends. The reality is these newcomers in the league want to make their own name for themselves and not be remembered as Baby MJ.

last i checked Cleveland was 17-65 before LeBron and WITH Boozer/Illguaskas.

face it, you're just a hater who can't be objective.

i'm not even a LeBron fan, but i don't deny he's played extremely well this season. also that he is one of main reasons for Cleveland's success.

Somebody seems angry about this topic. Lebron is cocky for a reason....becuz all these people are relyin on him to score and lead the games....Lebron is cocky right but don't bash him becuz he has talent....there are many cocky players out there who suck but talk like they're good...Lebron is good you gotta give him that...I personally would get Carmelo before Lebron but i mean when the media hypes u up, all u know is how to praise urself...so why blame him for somethin WE CREATED?? ya know...he is basically opening the doors for high school players as MJ opened it for college players...he's bringing cleveland out of the basement...Lebron is an only child too...i know how that gets especially wit that mom of his...no offense or anythin

And Kobe never thought he was MJ at one point? Please. I honestly don't know where you're getting your stuff from but all I've heard from Lebron is he wants to the best he can be. He doesn't want to compared to Magic or Michael. What's wrong with that? PLEASE show me the article where he said all of that stuff you're talking about and I'll agree with. Otherwise, I think you have some issues.
