I'm a Lakers fan and this season has got to be one of the most enjoyable one I've had in a long time given the addition of Payton and Malone. Yeah Malone. I've been thinking alot about this guy as player and he never seems to amaze me with his ability to run the floor. This is a guy who's automatic when it comes to the fastbreaks. Whether it's making acrobatic layups or slamming home monster dunks. Nobody does it better than Malone.

Sure you've got the high fly acts, the Vince Carter's, the Kobe Bryant's and the Michael Jordan's. Anyone of these guys who be great wing men. But separates Malone from these guys is his durability. His ability to take the contact and not be the one who's worst for wear. And in the, seemingly infrequent, times he misses a layup always manages to draw the foul and get free throws. If I was running the break there is no other person I'd prefer on the wing running the break with me than Karl Malone. Past, present and future who's your wingman?

I guess in your deranged basketball mind if you think a fastbreak means an opportunity to take an uncontested three, then sure you could pick these guys. But there are far better three point shooters in the league than these guys, Ray Allen for one; and he can dunk.

I like the energy Ginobilli brings off the bench for the Spurs and Bobby Jackson for the Kings. However, my favorite Wingman in the league is Shawn Marion. He plays hard on both ends of the court not only every night, but evey minute of every game. His performances are usually overshadowed by Marbury and Amare, but he's a trememdous competitor and athlete, who has made the sacrifices, and allows his teammates to receive the limelight.

My wingman has to be Carmelo, he'll be good at getting open or dribbling to be free for a shot on the wing

    K. Malone is actually a pretty good choice.

he's got a good midrange J and people will think twice before they take a charge on him. he's past his prime and he's like a 3rd-4th option on offense, but i'd say he's still effective.

when i think of old school "wingmen", i think of James Worthy [IMG]

I would take Kenyon Martin. He is a very quick big man and he gets up and down the court better than about any other big man in the league. Plus, he is a great finisher, rarely do you see him mess up on a break. So, yea, KMart.

I'm gonna be biased and go with Rashard Lewis. He's smooth and fluid and can throw it down. He's 6'10 so hes not going to have too many players contesting his shot. Maybe im just incredibly biased but he's my choice.

Also Kobe Bryant is an obvious choice because he can do it all.

    Past- Karl Malone
    Present- Kobe Bryant
    Future- LeBron James

all of these are currently playing, but I'm judging based on when they're in their prime...

I'm SHOCKED! You said past present future, and no one mentions Michael Jordan! There's no one I'd like running next to me more than the guy who can make the basket over anyone. You talk about acrobatics, he does stuff on drives to the hole that seem inhuman.

Present, I'd say Kobe or KG, and future, Melo.

I'd have Vince Carter or T-Mac as my wingman. T-Mac is good consistently scoring for first 3 quarters. Vince is streaky, and will score in the 4th quarter clutch when the team really needs it aka brings his game way up when it counts
