Yea forgot about the D, that's another thing, Pierce is a pretty good defender, Carter doesn't like to play one on one defense, maybe 1 out of 10 games he will.

Vince for Rip? Come on, it's like your trying to mock him. [IMG] I know his value has gone way down, but he's still better than Hamilton in my mind.

The thing is that Rip is good because of the system Detroit has, basically he's not on Carter's level. Rip is not a good defender, he cannot create for himself too effectively, and though he has improved his passing is not that good a passer. He's also not a good rebounder for a 6'7 guard.
He's a killer mid range shooter off screens though, but how much of that happened thus year, at least Ko won't be orchestrating our offense next year, but Vince for Rip is a no no.

since we are talking trade about vince to washington for areanas and brendan hawood (sp.). u satisfy the pg, center positions by getting rid of vince and u still have the eight pick and cap space to add depth to the bench.

    possible starting lineup bench
    areanas (pg) alvin (combo)
    rose (sg) (free agent guard)
    warrick (sf) (murray)
    bosh (pf) marshall (sixth man)
    hawood © moiso (contract year!!!)

Trading Vince is like rebuilding the team, and I dont think we will rebuild the team...unless we dont make the playoffs next season then that would be an option, but not right now. The only player I'm ok trading Vince for is Pierce, they got similar game but Pierce drives more often but can't creat as good as Vince. Instead of trading Vince why dont we get rid of our crap players (Murray, Milt, ect..) and get a better bench. If Mo can drive more he will be one of the best players on the Raptors. Everytime he drives something good happens, I never see him missing lay-ups or taking a bad shot in the lane (when you think about it nothing is a bad shot for him).

if the raptors are serious about improving they need to trade members of the core; donyell, vince, jalen or cb4

bosh is the only one really untradable....
id say give up marshall soon bcuz hes value is high right now. jalen also has a large contract so i wouldnt mind letting him go either. vince is still our leader but if we can get some1 better (pierce, t-mac...well he wont wanna come, etc.) then go for it.

Pierce is more inconsistent than Vince though, and he's a turnover machine, the defense and the rebounding are his edges, but man Pierce.

About Arenas and Haywood for Vince, I don't know if Washington would want to do that, or even if we would want to do that.

Just keep Vince, he didnt do nothin bad this year, in fact he played very solid. Give him another year, see how his legs turn out and if he elevates his game.

pierce would be a good move, he had a career high in turnovers this season, but only because he was handling the ball a lot more. if pierce had antoine, or was on the raps with someone else who could take the pressure off him, his turnovers would prolly be the same if not less then vince. vince seems to turn the ball over lots too

hudson would be a GREAT move. id love to see him on the raps, he is exactly what we need. he can create his own shot, and for others. hes a good shooter too. id love to see him in a raps uni

i agree. hudson would be the point man we need. that could also move rose to the 2 or 3 position which would allow him to score more.
