Malone was a non-factor, Bowen got Kobe frustrated and shut him down...Kobe let his big ego get in the way of team basketball by trying to prove to the world that Bowen does not own him, however he wasn't successful.
The Spurs reminded them who the defending champions are. I think people are going to be suprised when the Spurs repeat.

It's going to repeat! No chance for the Spurs to repeat as champs this year IMO... it's either Lakers or Timberwolves

But you can call that "tears of drama". They couldn't just walk out of there smiling, they had to act a little, it's Hollywood! It would make the next Spur defeat much more enjoyable. Especially in the playoffs.
Drama? Nah I think it had alot to do with getting punked on your homecourt and knowing your 4-peat dreams are over. Abit of advice for you, you are in the Spurs forum so bringing up the Lakers sweeping the Spurs is not the best idea considering what happened last season.
Lakers had won 11 in a row.. and Kobe was on fire... but it suddenly stopped.. main reason: Bruce Bowen... he really frustrated Kobe... which frustrated the whole Lakers team... and Kevin Willis did a really good job also.. working against Shaq and Malone.. this guy is really amazing at 41!

^^Yeah, Bowen really owns Kobe eh? His huge ego got in the way...oh yeah his ego made him miss alot of shots. Next you are gonna tell me the sky is green or that Bowen isn't a dirty defender lol... Payton is Parker's b*tch huh? How many all-star games has Tony attended? How many defensive players of the year? 1st team all-NBA awards? Malone wasn't ineffective, just sort of out of sync. GO LAKERS!!!

Parker clowns GP nearly every time they meet. It all started in the playoffs 3 years ago when Gary was still with Seattle. Oh and the Gary you are talking about there is not the same one that plays today. Payton is still one of my favourite players but he can't guard Parker. As he shouldn't as afterall Parker is only 21 and one of the quickest guards in the league. It has been proven that Payton struggles with quicker point guards. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Malone wasn't ineffective, just sort of out of sync. </div> Thats what happens when Kobe takes you out of the offense, Kobe shot more shots than Shaq and Malone combined, for a guy that shot 9-26 that truely is a joke. Had they fed the ball to Malone and Shaq more they would of had a better chance of winning the game. Sunday's game was a prefect example of when people say "Kobe shoots Lakers out of games"

Kobe allowed his ego to take over the basketball game instead of getting his teammates involved in the first half and rallying the team in the second half. It clearly showed on our Laker possessions when we'd get stops on defense, and he'd clearly take on Bowen one on one and he'd either scream like an ignorant child for a foul, or shoot too strong and clank off the rim.
^^ Maybe someday the L should give a harsh warning to Bruce Bowen and send him to NBDL or South Pole or sth. I understand if a superstar gets away with sth, but this guy is not even a star and he gets away with those pushing, clawing, elbowing, kicking and all the nasty things out there. I remember in one game against the Sonics, the usually mild-mannered Ray Allen said after the game, "it got to the point where I wanted to fight him". The sportsmanship Michael Finely got ejected playing against him, Vince has lobbied that the L notice his too-rough play. This guy keeps getting away, I am proud Kobe didn't back down and took his challenge. True he shot pretty bad (9-26), but once the L start doing sth and let the refs watch Bruce's rough plays a little closely watch for Kobe to burn him. Ain't noone in this league can defend NBA superstars like that. This guy got too much credit on defense that's because he doesn't do it the right way. It's too rough. He plays madder than other defensive specialists who use drugs... and it's not even known whether he does it or not. The L should do sth... Bruce Bowen should be exiled from this league.
^ Please cut the crap Bowen did nothing of the sort, he played tough defense and never cheated in any way. Some people see want they want to see. Bowen is one of the best defenders in the NBA and It's not because of what you say. If you can't handle psyical play then go play somewhere else, the NBA isn't for you. Bowen plays defense no different to Ron Artest, they get in your face and force you to shoot tough long jump shots. Players like Kobe will always shoot inconsistant against Bruce Bowen because he is simply a great defender. Bottom line.

Those three superstars are getting banged everytime on the floor by every defensive specialist from each team because its defense focuses on them. In other words, these Ray, Vince, Finley are very used to hard and rough defense, being pushed around isn't anything new to them, in fact they should be happy because it means potential free throws. For any of these superstars to say they almost fought someone because of his D, it means the D is taken up a whole new level that even superstars themselves can't stand. For any of these superstars to be ejected for another rough night is ridiculous right? For any of these superstars to send a message to David Stern about being defended too physically it's getting personal is just crap right? Again I ask you, did you know about Ray-Bruce incident, Finley-Bruce incident, Vince-Bruce incident? Do you even follow the NBA, moderator? <div class="quote_poster">Quoting AllNet:</div><div class="quote_post"> If you can't handle psyical play then go play somewhere else, the NBA isn't for you. Bowen gets guys angry because he will never leave you alone that is a simply fact. He will not leave your side no matter what. The Vince Carter incident was taken overboard. Bowen moved his leg when the shot went up to see where the ball was going to land but sadly for VC he didn't move and therefore tripped over Bowen's leg. If you can't handle tough defense you need to look at yourself. Ray Allen is my favourite player but I know what he said was out of order and quite frankly Bowen did nothing wrong. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">For any of these superstars to be ejected for another rough night is ridiculous right? Bowen has played the same kind of defense as he has done in every season he has ever been in the NBA, kind of sad people mention it now when they could never do before. A sign of guys admiting they got shut down. Oh and yes I spelt the word physical wrong, If I had to point out every word that didn't make sense from you I would be here all day. First you troll talking about the Lakers sweeping the Spurs, then you go on to argue the fact Fisher and Kobe were crying because they are champions , you then decide to bring up Bruce Bowen and the fact he doesn't deserve to be in the NBA For one second think before you post and realise where you are.
