Still dont agree. He will have his massive games, but to average it is another thing. Like I said he has the potential to be a triple threat for a long time, but I just hope we have a support cast that will disable that oppotunity.

No one can average a triple double at this time. As I've said, the competition is way stiffer than before. Passing lanes are clogged, rebounds are not only for the tall anymore, etc. etc.

A perfect example would be C-Webb and KG. We all know that they're double double guys and surrounded with a lot of talents that can hit shots when given the perfect pass. But they won't be able to get double digits average in assists because of the teams' defense nowadays. Teams have adjusted and it's just that no one can dominate in that way anymore.

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting og15:</div><div class="quote_post">I don't think he can, he's just not on the path to be a guy averaging double digits in rebounds. You see with good short guard rebounders like Francis and Kidd, before and as soon as they came in the league they were good rebounders. He can get close, 20, 7 and like 8 or 9 or something but I don't really see the double digit assists or rebounds. Lebron can stay in games though since he isn't super agressive on D, so also not foul prone.
He's also not going to be getting 45 minutes a game since right now, no one gets those kinda minutes anymore.
Injuries I can't say, I'm not miss Cleo.

Who knows though, it could happen. The closest person in recently was Grant Hill.</div>

Of course LeBron can average a triple double. He's already averaging 20/5/5 his rookie year. Once he hits his prime I think he can be counted on for 5 more assists and 5 more boards. Not to mention at least 10 more points. LeBron has proven to defy all the norms so far. People said he couldnt handle the pressure, he has. People said he couldnt shoot, he can. People said he'd hit the rookie wall, he hasn't. I think he will average a triple double 4 or 5 times in his carrer. Just my 2 cents......

I wouldn't even bet my 2 cents that James could average a triple double.

I don't want James to be how Oscar was. Oscar was a rude ball hog, I mean sure he had the assists, but only because he had the ball in his hands on every single possession, litterally. I won't knock the Big O if try to downgrade his achievements, but we don't want James to play that way here. Plus, the game is a lot different now, defense is a lot more aggressive, players lack fundamentals, so it just won't happen.

21, 5.5, and 5.8 as an 18/19 year old straight out of HS? sick

No trip-dubs for LeBron just dub-dubs. But I call he gets a trip-dub before the season is over. 5 games left.

Yea I don't think you realize how much of an increase 5 rebounds and 5 assists is.

Grant Hill didn't even average a triple double, his best years were 21 points, 9.0 rebounds, and 7.3 assists. His rookie year he had 19.9 points, 6.4 rebounds, and 5.0 assists.

Steve Francis' rookie year, 18 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 6.6 assists. Or even Jason Kidd's, 11.7 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 7.7 assists.

Its not something easily accomplished, and Lebron doesn't currently have that rebounding instinct, he get boards, but he's 6'8 and with most players its something they just have.

So really he won't average one through a season, he'll get his share during the season but not an average.

If anyone were to do it, I'd say Lebron would be the lead candidate, but that it is such a hard feat to accomplish. Only a handful of guys in the league get a triple double once in a year, let alone multiple times. For someone to carry one out an average over an 82 game season is highly unlikely.

I could see him getting a doube double in assists and points in a year or two, but he isn't going to get 10 boards a game playing shooting guard. Hell, most of the centers and power forwards in the league don't even come that close to averaging 10 boards a game.

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting InNETSweTrust:</div><div class="quote_post">Which one? Lebron and the Cavs playing in a playoff series? Hehehe.

Seriously though, Bron has what it takes to pull a Magic/Kidd.</div>

That's just what I was thinking, that he'd be averaging along the lines of Jordan, Bird and Kobe. Picking up at least over 5 in assists, rebounds and at least 20 points.
