It might not have the same ring as L.A.'s Staples Center or the Arco Arena in Sacramento -- but if it rings right in the cash register, the Golden State Warriors could soon be playing in the newly christened Ross Sports Center.

As in Ross Dress for Less.

That's right, Warriors brass confirm they have been in talks with Ross Stores Inc. about a possible megabucks deal to hang the Ross brand on the refurbished Oakland arena. "Basically, we had a series of very good meetings, and they're making some decisions about what they want to do,'' team president Robert Rowell said, adding there was nothing firm yet.

I hate "Corporate America" named stadiums. It takes away from the historical value of a franchise. Well I hope the Warriors spend this new found wealth wisely by retaining their young players and providing more amenities to their loyal fans.

Man, that name sounds cheap as hell. The Arena sounds just fine.

I could care less if it was called the Tampax Arena or the Preparation H center, the ownership just needs to get out now to prevent all out boycott.

it'll always be called the arena no matter what corporate sponsorship is behind it, people just know it by that name (e.g. candlestick, shark tank, etc.)
