He has such excellent traits at his disposal, intelligence, size, mentality, patience, excellent positioning, he's not the annoying defender but the smart defender. Few people do well against the likes of Peja anyway.

Keith Van Horn is a better overall shooter than Vince Carter, but people continue to overlook him because he isn't some high profile guy you can market.
