If I am not mistaken, this is the kid who was traded to dallas on draft day and was plagued by some serious mental issues. Still, the word around him is he does have the talent, so I guess it can't hurt with us out of playoff contention and thin up front.

He did try to make an NBA comback a few years ago with the Hawks but it didnt work. He only played like 14 or 15 games. He is one of the High schoolers who failed on the NBA level. He just wasnt ready to handle the mental pressures of the NBA at such a young age.
He has actually played CBA for a couple of years and been comfortably averaging a double double. He's a big body and a very good rebounder, which is pretty much what we need. I remember in Dallas he had some run ins with the law and was very emotionally unstable, which in the end really scared a lot of teams off him, including Don Nelson who had shown a lot of faith up until that point. He got a chance in Atlanta, went to Milwaukee in the Robinson/Kukoc deal, and then into the CBA. Either way, it's only for the last few weeks of the season anyway. He has talent and is a strong body, so it's worth a shot IMO.
geez I haven't been in here for awhile...I was like...whose this new guy? whoa...am I dreaming?...it's only a few games left also...
I'm pretty sure it's just as insurance, I'd be very surprised if he sticks around longer than the end of the season. Too much of a risk, not enough scope for reward.
He tried out for the Lakers one season. He looks like a good talent, but still pretty raw. He's a lot like the current Laker project Jamal Sampson. If he has his head together now, I could see him being a solid bench player...
After a bit of research, I found he was rated the 27th best HS prospect the year he nominated for the draft, so really it was pretty optimistic. Went late first round, but you get the feeling he may have wasted any chances of a long term deal just by his attitude and mental problems in the past. I don't think there was much else better available for Seattle.
