His scoring off the bench is much needed. Palacio is a good change of speed and style at PG and him backing up Alvin Williams wouldn't do any harm.
You forgot Jerome Moiso, and yes Palacio does do harm, even though the Bobcats would have to be out of their minds to take him, I say we just waive the guy.

Actually if we left Donyell unprotected I think Charlotte would take him, his contract expires after next year, he's not bad, and he's also only getting mid-level. We can't just unprotect everyone especially guy we can use as trade bait (Donyell)
I think you need people who can clean up and make up for screw ups like loose balls and turnovers. People like Marshall and the two Williams' do just that. Carter and Bosh will continue to be good. Mo' Pete' will need to stay good to stay, but I think he proves to be more useful than Jalen at times, Jalen seems to be playing much smarter than when he was with the Bulls and the Pacers though. Strickland and Jalen could be traded to help improve your overall roster, plus you could resign Oakley.

Who do they think they are coming into this league thinking they have the right to take some of our players? What have they done for us? NOTHING. ^very nice..quality post, please next time, atleast include your real opinion next time. I Think almost all thats needed to be said has been said in this post. Obviously Jalen, Williams, Marshall, Bosh, and Vince should be protected. I'm not sure about Palacio :-S. Moiso is very iffy. He showed some signs of brightness and goodness earlier in the season and would serve as a decent second/third string backup.
Alright I'm sorry..... here's my REAL opinion: Everyone is unprotected except for Marshall, Carter, and Bosh. I would even encourage them to take Rose and Williams mainly because of their contracts. That way we can free up more money. Marshall (and maybe even Carter) can be used as trade bait in later situations so we should hang on to them. On a side note, isn't Palacio a free agent after this season? Some of you have him on your protect and unprotect list.

We can't get them to take Rose unless we offer them money and a pick, and I'm not willing for us to lose our picks just to get rid of Rose so they can waive him. Yes its good, but it doesn't say good for the franchise, and Rose is being very loyal to us so we shouldn't do that. I'm more concerned about the pick than his loyalty though.
