<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">the thing is...kwame was supposed to have a world of potential when he was drafted...and he still hasnt shown much improvment at all. he was given a chance to shine, with starting roles and he didnt step up</div>
Look at his statistics and you can see that he has been improving over the years (this year especially). He's improving slower than expected but it's still a positive sign.

I agree with your points regarding JO and Rip, but the reason why I mentioned those two situations was because they're both examples of teams trading their veteran star who's putting up bigger numbers for a younger player who's putting up lesser numbers. In both instances it was the team that took the younger player that ended up with the better half of the deal. Just proving a point that numbers shouldn't always be relied on.

I also want to point out that just because Kwame wouldn't fit in with our team doesn't mean we still shouldn't trade VC for him. The fact that Kwame is a young, healthy, athletic player with size would make his trade value much higher than Carter's. If he doesn't play on the Raptors, we could still use him by making a 3-way trade involving the Raptors, Wizards and another team. We could get much more for Brown than we can for Carter.

I find all this talk useless though because there's absolutely no way a trade like this would happen.

Why would anyone want Jerome James over Mark Blount? That's just stupid.

So is the idea that we will get Steve Nash. Please, wake up. Nash isn't going anywhere. He is the Mavs only PG. If there are two guys who are solid on the MAVS roster it's Nash and Dirk.

I don't want to start a drafted PG. We need someone with experience. A real PG. A drafted PG will be inconsistent and turnover prone. Even more than Rose when he is playing the point.

Alston wouldn't come back. He has had a great year for sure, but it's only one year. I would love to see a trade that gets AI here. I know it's highly unlikely, but Philly is sick of him and are doing rather well without him. Does he have off the court issues? OF COURSE. Is he a hard nose player that only wants to win? YES. Vince/Rose/AI/Bosh/Blount. Can you say one of the top teams in the EAST!

You know we can't get Iverson without getting rid of Rose or Carter, he has a 14 million contract, we can't even do a Carter for Iverson trade. Also if we had all 3 do you know how much our team salary would be.

Like you said, highly unlikely, no extremely unlikely, we'd have to do something like send Donyell Marshall, Lamond Murray, and Alvin Williams for Iverson. I think Philly can get themselves better deals than that.

I agree with you that Kwame is younger and all but his trade value isn't higher, no team right now will trade a superstar player for Kwame because its just stupid, unless they really want to get rid of the player and need a PF. None of those situations apply to us, we don't need a 4, and we're not in a stage where we want to get rid of Carter.

You're right that we probably don't need Kwame on our team simply because we don't need another PF. I was thinking we could have Bosh at 4 with Kwame at 5 but a bigger center is more appropriate so I was wrong about that. But I still would have to disagree that Carter as a higher trade value than Kwame. On one hand you have an older player who's putting up good numbers (but they have been decreasing over the years), and who's injuries have got the best of him. On the other hand you have a younger player whose numbers aren't great (but they are increasing), who's healthy, and has size. The moment you mention young & healthy with size & athleticism, GM's will automatically take interest in that player. Less interest is shown to older, injury prone players who play the 2/3 spot. The only reason why VC would have a higher trade value is due to his popularity.

    This same Kwame

STILL ON THE MEND ? Brown traveled with the Wizards but did not dress, missing his third consecutive game with a sore left foot. There is a chance Brown might be done for the season, which ends tomorrow. </div>

No way, dont underrate Carter, u think he's popular for no reason? He still has his fair share of criticism for being in the top #10 scoring even this year, with plenty of highlight reels. Why would u trade Carter for Kwame? We would win no games, who's gonna hit the crunch time shot? Why do u even think we've won half our games. Every game Vince was injured, we have not one even 2 of them this season, we were blown out. Really though, Toronto would have to trade Vince to realize what a big mistake they'd make... but thats typical of Toronto fans. We dont realize what we have till its gone.

    [IMG] exactly

we never know what we have till what we have we lose...

trading VC now is just stupid...he only missed a couple of games this season and is about to get into the prime years (age-wise) of his career....letting him go for an unproven, low stats guy like Kwame would not only be downright stupid, but the fans would be outraged....ur trading an all-star for a guy who puts up bench numbers.

Relax people. Like you, I do not want to see Carter leave the team but realistically, there?s a good chance that he will be traded in the off-season. With a new GM coming in, it would be in his best interest to start fresh and that includes a new franchise player. Jack Armstrong himself said before a game that he feels Carter won?t be back next season. Whether you agree with it or not, that?s beside the point, you still must accept it. So if it?s inevitable that Carter will get traded, we must then explore our options. That?s the only reason why I agreed that the Hughes/Brown for Carter deal would be in our best interest. I feel that more teams would be interested in Kwame than Carter so we can get Kwame and use him to get another player(s). I must stress that he will not be playing on the Raptors. He will only be used as bait to get players who will be a better fit for our team.

You guys are strolling away from the main argument here though, which is who has a higher trade value. I feel that Kwame?s value is higher and it seems like everyone here feels the opposite. I?m completely fine if you disagree with me on this issue because I expected a reaction like this and I respect & understand your opinion. But just because I?m mentioning a trade involving VC doesn?t mean I don?t appreciate how important he is to our team. I actually take offense to that because if you know me then you?d know that I?ve remained a Carter fan through all the ups and downs. Even though I state his weaknesses I still respect his game and his character. Again, the only reason why I?m mentioning this trade with Vince is because of our current situation.

Carter's value is higher because he also brings fans into the seats in addition to playing pretty well, Kwame or Hughes aren't going to attract anyone, and Kwame still hasn't proved his total worth to people yet.

Carter's is higher, maybe if the Wizards made the playoffs and Kwame had an amazing playoff series.

No more Rasual Butler [IMG]. I've been saying we should look into getting him but...

    Odom won't stay content

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">? Good news on swingman Rasual Butler: Because he has been with the Heat two years, Miami this summer can match any offer for him up to the league's average salary (likely $5.1 million).</div>
