<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">AUBURN HILLS, Mich. ? The fan base for point guard Rafer Alston continues to grow. Friday night, he found one on the opposite bench when the Heat faced the Detroit Pistons at the Palace of Auburn Hills.

Pistons coach Larry Brown acknowledged he had considered signing Alston while coach of the 76ers.

"I've tried to get him the last three years," he said, with a push made by assistant coach Mike Woodson. "Woody liked him. That was one of the main reasons we tried."</div>

    More here.

Could you image if the Sixers actually got Skip, they would have had the best ball handling back court in the league [IMG].

That would have been nice, i've always liked Alston since he came to Toronto, it's all Grunwald's fault we did not sign him

Skip and The Answer in Philly's backcourt? That would have been a sight to see.

AI and Skip have the sickest handles in the league but neither one is allowed to use them as effectively as they'd like.

I really like Alston, he's really gone past the curse and become a pretty good player. He's not selfish although he does not pass too well, which is both a good thing and a bad thing, his offense is amazing, his three point shot this season is simply ecstatic and he just plain works hard. It took him awhile, but in the longrun he'll become even better, someone with his streetsmarts, talent and potential undeniably deserves praise and props, especially once he improves and is at the peak of his game.

I've always liked Skip. Props to him and his work.Too bad the Raptors passed up on him.(**** Peddie), Now Miami gets the benefits.

Now, when the sizers get skip, they get AO from the D league, and then you've got a sick back court.

Skip is really getting crazy love now. It should give other And1 players more hope to make it and work harder on their games.

Skip did pretty good in T.Dot. Grunwuld's a crummy GM though, so it's good for us [IMG] Now we got him and paired with D-Wade the next A.I so I guess it's all good.

It wasn't Grunwald, it was the president Richard Peddie that didn't allow Skip to return, he didn't want a guy that all he did was turnover the ball [IMG]
