Just wanted to see if you guys think we should sign Cheany for another year if we can get him cheap. I think we should, he is a solid sub, plays decent defense, and when he is on..can hit just about any midrange jump shot given to him. Just wanted to get everyones opinion
I wouldn't have any problem signing him to low contract. The guy is a veteran who knows the game. He is defensive minded and, like you said, can hit that midrange jumper. But if we want to continue to develope Pietrus it might be best not to resign him.

We need a tall athletic small forward. Let's get Pietrus's bro. I think he's listed at 6'8" and he's quite an athlete that can also play 3 different positions (guard, small forward, power forward or maybe just any of the forward spots) and he's very quick laterally and one explosive dunker because of his leaping ability and long arms. Air France 1 and Air France 2 all on the same team How does that sound? We all know Dunleavy can bring the offense if he can develop his shot like Peja. Its just his defense that makes him not worthy of being a star player so ideally his backup should be a great defender that can guard whoever is causing havoc on the other end.
Yeah, Cheaney is good, but only as a third option. He has to take a backseat to Pietrus to allow him to develop, because once he gets more PT, he will show rapid improvement. But Cheaney will be one of the better 3rd options in the league.
He's #2 in the league for field goal percentage. So he takes good shots. It's too bad he's one dimensional in that he can't take outside shots or go from the top of the key. He's a baseline camper.
Yea but if Musselman is still the coach than Cheany will take a lot of minutes away from Pietrus as we have all seen this season.
Yeah, but do you really think that Musselman will be the coach next year? I doubt it, and I think that a big job requirement for next year's coach is that he play the youngsters, which is one thing that Muss and the management could never agree on.
