According to ESPN he is. I think so too, since he revolutionanized the league further more and did so much good for it more then any other player in it's history. Ppl's will say Wilt, especially after averaging 50.4 ppg and 25.7rpg in the same season. Or you could go with Russell for winning 11 championships. There may have been a poll on this already, but I still believe that MJ is the greatest.

I'd say yes at this point.... MJ is the best to have ever played..... But there are definitely several guys in the league with as much (and maybe slightly more) athletic ability as Jordan had during his prime.... The fact is, Jordan won everything there was to win and for anybody to truly be better than he was, they'll need to accomplish what he accomplished.... plain and simple.... The game is widely viewed as so much more than just raw talent (as it should be)....

LeBron wont even be close to MJ, MJ in his first season averaged 27 or 28 pts per game, that is just crazy for a rookie to pull out some thing like that.

Did he ever match Bob Sura's consecutive triple-doubles?

    Thankyou, please come again.

    MJ is the best ever.
Wilt is not, as good as he is 100ppg and all remeberr he did it while playing people not even close tot he caliber of himself. When he played Bill Russel of the Celtics he was out rebounded and outscored many times.

MJ is the greatest ever, plain and simple. He's the only player to average 30 ppg over an entire career, people have problems doing that in a season. He won 6 NBA Finals and 6 NBA Finals MVPs, 2 time regular season MVP, he did it all. He revolutionized the way the game was played and has had more impact than any player ever had in all likelyhood. In my mind, there is no question on whether or not he is the greatest ever.

5 MVP's, Defensive Player of the Year, Scoring Titles, 6 Rings, Ten-Time All NBA First Team etc...Just look at the stats and the accomplishments. That will do the talking.

Well your wrong on that part. He's tied with Abdul-Jabbar for All-Time PPG with 30.1.

Well, there was Wilt, who averaged 30.08 or so, a couple tenths of a point less than MJ.

But I agree that there's no question MJ is the greatest. I also agree that this topic has been exhausted, so I'm closing this.
