As much as i love the mavericks, they need to get their at together. they need to do a couple of things.

    1. get a center- dirk just isnt cutting it, hes not physical enough
    2. they need to stop trading their draft picks - they traded their first and second round picks
    3. they need some defense - going back to #1 - i am upset that they didnt try to get dampier from GS before the deadline. also trading bell and griffin their best two defensive players was not smart.

You know i like Dirk a lot. But your'e right about Dirk. He can shoot but he needs to be more physical. You know get it in the post more. I don't know what would make it better , maybe lift some weights? But most definetly Dirk, GET BIG!!!

Yeah thats Dirks only problem hes not that big and he gets pushed around alot.

They should trade off Walker in the offseason and get us a good center.

Dirk isnt the problem. He is playing out of position. They don't need dirk to put on pounds and then get slow and lose his advantages; half of his game is his ability to stretch the D and cause problems with defensive match-ups. They need a pure center, and then dirk can move out of the 5 spot.

we arent saying its dirks fault, but ebven if he is a PF he still needs to be more physical. 7ft tall is proper Center height tho. and i got to give props to Dirk, he is the best shooting big man of all time. even counting Bird.

Yeah he is tall enough, maybe he should hit the weight room.. but his personality is more SF than C, and thats more of the problem. Its easier when you have the skill to stand outside and run off of screens for jumpers than get in the trenches. I know from experience.. I am a shooting big man who has to play in the trenches and i hate it, absolutely hate it. I love playing the perimeter

p.s.- dampier is exactly what they need. I would give anyone other than the big 3 for him

I understand some people don't like gettin in the trenches but if most people see a tall person they expect him to be tough, gettin rebounds and not just shooting.

Yeah i agree.. he gets 9 boards a game and usually defensively rebounds good, he just has to crash the offensive boards when shots go up and he could average at least 10 a game probably.

Small ball did work for some parts, because it fits quite well with our style of play. But the Mavs don't have a chance against Miller/Divac/Webber in the basket area.

I hope we can aquire some nice defensive stopper at the 5 in the offseason. Fire power should still be enough without Walker! With Marquis and JHo staying in Dallas this could really be the start of something big next season!

    Imagine for example:

    Ratliff - Bradley
    Nowitzki - Jamison
    Howard - Jamison - Nowitzki
    Finley - Daniels - Howard
    Nash - Daniels
