Quote:

Davis disses Vince, fans Ex-Rap questions Carter's heart, lone wolf ex-GM Boo management, not the players, Bull tells Toronto DOUG SMITH SPORTS REPORTER Vince Carter lacks the commitment needed to stay healthy and remain on top of his game. Glen Grunwald surrounded himself with people terribly out of touch with the NBA and it's only a mild surprise he's out of a job. Raptor fans are like jilted ex-lovers who should boo upper management instead of players who decide they'd rather live at home and play for teams even worse off than Toronto. And Kevin O'Neill is coaching his last three games for Toronto. Those are the considered opinions of ex-Raptor Antonio Davis, who fired a verbal broadside yesterday at his former teammates, fans and the general manager who rewarded him with a $65 million contract (U.S.) and then traded him to precisely the team he wanted to join.
Full Article .. I really didn't like it .. if he said those comments while he was a Raptor and a Captaine of the team, I wouldn't have mind, but this shows something about the charecter of AD. During the game today, Vince threw the ball at him after he gave Vince an elbow. * I apologize to all Raps fans for not posting a Game Thread today, I woke up late, and it seemed like thefranchise3 was unavailable as well.
I'm kinda surprised that he came out like this and attacked Vince and the Raptors. This shows a definate lack of character on his part. Could this be a product of his horrible season with the Bulls or the constant attacks on his character from the Toronto media. Probably just a combination of both. The saying goes: "When the grass is cut, the snakes will show". AD has definately shown that he has no class.
Yea I cant believe it, after we sent him to the team he wanted to go, he turns around and shows his true character. How can he diss Vince like that? Vince is playing good, and he cant expect Vince to bring raps to the playoffs alone, if TMAC and AI cant do it, neither can Vince. That is just ignorance on Davis' part, and I dont see how he's saying Vince is playing bad. He has nothing to be angry over either. what a loser
Yea and how can you rip on other people when you as a power forward is shooting under 40% for the season, and barely over 40% as a Bull, and Vince is averaging more blocks than you while playing as the a 2 or 3. At least AD had a gorrilla dunk he always does today  (stupid guy, metric system)
yeah i was shocked too by AD's comments but vince's reply wasnt that great either. by throwing the ball at AD didnt do much. even though i thought AD's comments were inappropriate and insulting, i do however agree with what he said. i just thought he shouldnt have said it. he is right though. vince is a lazy player and he wont play hard unless some1 motivates him. remember the first NBA game? 51 pts. when he faced ray allen after ray got the olympic spot? 47 pts. and today when AD dissed him up vince came out aggressive. hence, AD is right: vince has the talent but he is too lazy to use it.
Very unprofesional act by Davis. In a way i agree with him about the management and how they have imported players and exported them but i did not like his comments about carter. I'm glad Vince threw the ball at him
I have a strange feeling that AD said those words to win back the hearts of Raptor fans. He knows that saying those things will only make Carter become a better player. So when Carter comes back next season after preparing himself in the off-season, he will become less injury prone and will play to his full potential. The fans will realize that Carter's transformation was due to AD's comments and they may thank Davis for doing that. The man has nothing to lose really because Raptor fans already hate his guts. That's all just my opinion though.... But then again, that still doesn't explain why he compared us fans to bitter ex-girlfriends....

Quoting Mr.Fundamentals:

I'm glad Vince threw the ball at him
since he did it, y didnt he do it harder? what the hell was he thinking? if he was going to do it, do it well. dont just make a light toss. whip it....or dont do anything at all.

THat block was out of this world.

THat block was out of this world.
yeah and then AD wins the game. thats the bottom line. vince got OWNED whether we like to admit it or not
o and btw, to add onto the fact that what AD said about vince was true. Kevin willis once said after leaving toronto that vince needs a tough guy like oakley around him. Oakley himself said vince lacks toughness and just talks about his mom all the time. Keon Clack said that vince always says he wants to be a superstar but he doesnt put in the effort to become one. Tracy McGrady said about vince not being able to lead a team bcuz he is lazy. now AD did it. AD's comments were just way more direct than the other ones. but the fact is, vince is a soft guy that cant motivate himself. even though he is still an all star player, he has the potential to be MVP type player
Vince still had 2 pretty nasty dunks though in this game. Also, i don't think throwing the ball at AD was because of his comments towards Vince, it was just simply because he was tired of getting hit and bumped by people during this game...especially by his former teammate.

I'm not mad that AD said this, and I don't know why people would get furious at him for his comments about Vince in the off season. I've heard many times over the years that Vince doesn't do enough in the off season, although I can't remember the specific instances. What he said could be very true, and you have to realize that basically there are only positive things to come from his comments regarding our team, hopefully it will motivate Vince to work harder, because I believe that its not secret that he needs to. "Vince has a world of talent. Deep down inside, he really wants to win but I don't know if he's willing to make those sacrifices to bring everything out of himself," said Davis. "Is he willing to spend a summer working on his body, whether it's stretching or getting strong or getting that leg strong or going to a specialist to make sure that he stays healthy? Is he willing to sacrifice his personal time to get that done? I don't know. I really don't know if he's willing to do those things." Here hes not saying that Vince is a bad player (notice the first sentence), he just questions his work ethic, which should be no surprise because this topic has been here for at least 2 years. More hard work could never hurt Vince, it would just make him a better player, so for others to defend Vince its ridiculous. His quote about the management... "A lot of those other guys were just old-school guys who knew the fundamentals of basketball but they couldn't keep up with the game," said Davis. "They'd go and look at stats and say, `Oh, yeah, he's a good player.' Why else would you take Michael Bradley over Zach Randolph? Michael Bradley's numbers might've been better. But if you look at these kids play, you know Zach has more of an upside than Michael. And I'm not knocking either one of them. I'm just saying that." That is nothing but the truth, how can you hate him for that? Once again, he speaks the truth... "I kind of feel bad for the fans in a way," he said. "They always come across as a scorned ex-girlfriend. Every guy that goes back there they boo. You're just like, `God, why are you booing everybody that comes back?' Is everybody wrong that leaves? Why don't you boo management? They're the ones trading. You guys had 23 guys come through there this year. Why don't you start saying, `Look, get us some guys we can relate to and recognize?' You can't show up in training camp with eight new guys every year. You'll never get anything done."
exactly, the franchise 3 is correct. AD is helping the raps. did u c vince play? he was Edit motivated.
they don't BOO everybody.....they boo tmac and AD because both of themWANTED to leave t-dot ,...u don't see them booing rafer alston or jyd.....do u?..however i think what AD said was without class....but i would rather want someone telling the truth and waking vince up then someone say nothing or saying something thats not what they feel or think but just because its the right thing to say..... i've experienced it ....critism does lead to better things...
harry_balls5, half of the things you said were pretty ignorant, premium_plus was partially right. First of all, you said all that junk, then when premium_plus says something back, you act as though you dont care and go straight gunnin for him instead. You just got angry b/c someone challenged you, and with writing a post like that you have to expect to get challenged for ssaying some unfactual things there. It is obvious even if someone tells you the truth, you are one of those people that wouldnt listen and make the whole world a worst place. If you dont care so much, then why'd you write all that stuff for in the first place? Keon did diss Vince, it was all over the paper a couple days after he was traded, and you're the one telling premium_plus to get his facts straight, UNBELIEVABLE. You're saying McGrady is so good? He's amazing. Then why cant he lead his team out of the first round of the playoffs? PPl keep saying he's so amazing, but team record wise, he's proven nothing year after year. Vince is a great athlete with an even better personality. He took it and didnt even say anything bad about Davis, he takes alot of smack talk from ppl. But I notice other athletes usually cant take the talk punishment when people talk bad about them such as Webber. Now he wants to leave Sacramento. Kobe, he wants to leave LA, Vince is really good at taking criticism. And you know what? Vince isnt even playing bad, whens the last time McGrady pulled up for the clutch shot like Vince? And where are his highlight reel things? Carter has 100 times more than McGrady. But you know what? I choose McGrady in NBA Live over Vince all the time. Since he's so overrated, they make him better in the game.
I really dislike the fact that people are standing up for AD. What ever happened to the diplomatic AD? The one that was a co-leader for the Raptors. I used to have the world of respect for AD when he stepped up 2 years ago and took the Raps and started making the Raps play like a team. I remember the exact game.. Washington vs. Toronto where AD questionably stripped Jordan and layed the ball in that started Toronto's 12-14 game winning streak. Where's this leader now? You are no longer a part of the Raptors organization by your choice, so why insult them. It's because of AD that we lost JYD in the mix as well, that I'm sure JYD is still sad over. You did enough good and bad for Toronto AD. Why sink to this level? I'm really disappointed in ADs comments.
