<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">SACRAMENTO, Calif. -- Shaquille O'Neal cursed during a live postgame television interview Sunday, the Lakers superstar's second profane outburst this season.

O'Neal fought foul trouble throughout the Lakers' 102-85 loss to Sacramento, finishing with just 10 points and five rebounds. A group interview session in the Lakers' locker room was breaking up when O'Neal made a profane response to a final question, asking him to clarify an earlier statement about the Kings' play.

"Not impressed, not impressed," he said. "Not [expletive] impressed, you know what I mean?"

At least one TV station was showing the interview live.</div>

Shaq needs to watch his mouth. Seriously, all that illadvised swearing is really going to hurt Shaq's hollywood career. I mean he could end up losing all of his precious nestle crunch commericals. "Learn your lines young f*cking man!" I mean that just won't be tolerated down in Nestle land.

If Shaq is so concerned about the way officals are officiating his games, why doesn't he just stop reaching in? That's where alot of his "ticky tac" fouls are coming from, and it's something that can be easily avoided on Shaq's part. Stop reaching in, start trying to block shots instead. He'll get those called against him EVERY time, remember last season he broke Bobby Jackson's hand on a reach foul and lost his team a game with a flagrant reaching foul against Steve Francis and Houston.

Shaq is just an idiot. He really needs to shut that huge gorilla mouth of his and play some freakin' basketball for a change and live up to the DIESEL nickname that's tattooed on his arm. He was pathetic. He was worthless.

^David Stern does. The league is all about image, I don't personally care but since that Janet Jackson thing, america is tight with everything. U can't say this, u can't show that. Though you can hear them cursing alot during the game, it really shouldn't be a big deal IMO. I thought they was gonna make a big deal about it, but Kobe has been in the hot seat. So apparently it wasn't shown to everbody else in the country, cause I thought he would have to apologize again cause it's been aired to everybody. I guess not, so it's all good.

big deal</div>It is a big deal because it is a league rule. Young teens are getting drunk so should we just legalize it because they are already doing it? Who cares that people are losing their love ones because of drunk drivers, everybody's doing it.

Shaq is being paid millions of dollars to play a game. I don't think asking Shaq not to cuss on television is too much too ask for.

lol...i dont remeber advocating drunk driving, if your trying to relate driving drunk to swearing, i think your WAY off base. saying a word that in reality is going to cause no harm to anyone isnt anything even CLOSE to drinking

your right...it isnt too much to ask for...i dont think its too much to expect for someone whos passionate about the game, to keep his cool in a heart breaking and frustrating loss. shaq may be well paid...but hes still human...last time i checked, even well paid humans loose their cool sometimes. i know i do

Then why are people(not necessarily directed at you) bitching about him being fined and the league taking action? He broke a rule and now he is going to reap the consequences.<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">lol...i dont remeber advocating drunk driving, if your trying to relate driving drunk to swearing, i think your WAY off base. saying a word that in reality is going to cause no harm to anyone isnt anything even CLOSE to drinking</div> Yea but you compared cussing to smoking marijuana...is that the same thing? yea...and he'll pay a fine, and that should be the end of it. i dont think it should be made out to be a big deal. i dont see the point of people saying "oh man, what an idiot...he should shut up" who cares? its swearing. everyone does it. no biggie imo

i didnt compare swearing to smoking weed...i said that kids are doing far worse things then swearing these days...i think its kind of naive to think that we shold protect the children from "bad words" when there are worse things going on. see what i mean? but when you say something like this: "Who cares that people are losing their love ones because of drunk drivers, everybody's doing it" i get the feeling that your patronizing me, in the respect that i think d&d is okay [IMG]

Did you ever hear guys like David Robinson swearing? Avery Johnson? Tim Duncan? Those were true class guys.

By letting people cuss on tv we are not giving parents a chance to raise their kids the why they want them brought up. Do you know what I'm saying?

oh i agree fully...admiral, fish face and big fundamentals are ALL class acts, and there have been plenty others...i dont think that shaq is exactly a class act, i just dont think that its a big deal...thats all.

but yea, i know exactly what your saing...i just think its a little naive for parents to try and shield their kids from profane language...there are bigger things to worry about, and hearing so called "bad language" is inevitable anyways. just my views on the issue though [IMG]

but man...no need to apologize...this conversation is pretty down to earth compared to the one im having with "harry_balls5" on whether his username is his REAL name or not [IMG]
