The Timberwolves have a lot of success when Sam Cassell is our only PG, with a free agent pass-first PG backing him up. Troy Hudson is normally Sam Cassell's backup, but he's currently injured, which might actually be good for the Wolves. Troy Hudson is a shoot-first PG, and so is Sam. Usually, a team with 2 shoot-first PGs doesn't do well. That's why I think that the Timberwolves want to trade Troy Hudson in a sign-and-trade deal this offseason. Who do you think the Wolves can get for him. Remember that Troy was averaging 15PPG, 6APG, and 2RPG last season, and that he's young.
They could probably easily get a 2nd round draft pick I'd think with him. Player wise, I'm really not sure what they could get with him. Maybe someone like a Jamal Crawford, but, that wouldn't help them all that much. And, it's not likely that Chicago would give him up either. So, yea, I really have no clue what they could get for him. Especially considering he hasn't played all year for the most part. That right there really hurts their chances of getting rid of him in some type of a sign and trade deal.
i love Hudson magical moments in the playoffs, he is da man for the T-Wolves. I like to see Hudson trade to teams like New Jersey or Detriot becuase of they half-court scoring problems. Or maybe to the spurs but i cant think of any aveliable point guard from the Spurs. The T-Wolves should trade Hudson and Wally for some big guy to help KG Lowpost
Problem is if I remember correct Hudson can opt out of his contract and truthfully I think he will. His contract isn't that big and probably could get a better one in the free agent market.
All right, Hudson will opt out of his contract after this season. And to us, he isn't worth more than he is already making. But a lot of teams need a point guard, so he will be worth more to other teams, which makes our offer seem pretty small. He is probably the 2nd best point guard in the Free Agent market this offseason, behind Steve Nash, so he is worth a lot to other teams, but to us he is just a backup point guard. I like him and hope he stays on the team, but he isn't what we are looking for. We are looking for a point guard that can play solid defense and pass the ball well, Hudson jacks up to much shots and doesn't get many people involved. So I see Hudson going to a team like Utah or the Clippers, both who he has played for before.
Crawford is a lot better than huson and that would be a terrible trade. hes a goo backup, and would be worth a decent prospect and later pick.
I think that if the Wolves could get Jamal Crawford in a sign. And trade that would be good for the wolves(but I doubt it.) Sprewell scoring output. And athletism are on the decline. The Timberwolves need some youth in that wing position. Trenton Hassell is an excellent defender. And I think the most important move for the wolves this offseason might be to resign him But he isnt the offsensive player that crawford is, so the Wolves need to add an athletic scorer to back up guard rotation. thats probably the one thing the wolves are missing right now.
Crawford will be a 20+ scorer in the next couple years. Hudson is young but is already having injury problems. Plus Crawford is athletic and healthy.
what about hudson to toronto? raps need a point. maybe raps can give up donyell marshall or something?
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting ReRun:</div><div class="quote_post">marshall is better than hudson. toronto should try to get flip murray.</div> i think toronto would take hudson instead. we need a point while marshall is just a good shooter. raps would want filp but he is more of a SG than a PG
I believe if Nash is gone, Dallas should get him, along with Jamison he'd do very well. Same for the Magic, seeing as Lue has finally taken to the bench, where he belongs. Not forgetting the likes of the Sixers and Rockets with anti-point guards either.
Just a thought but won't it be good if Orlando got Troy Hudson. Lue isn't gonna be that good worst than Hudson at least. If they had Hudson their line u would be pretty good. PG - Troy Hudson SG - Tracy McGrady SF - Keith Bogans PF - Juawn Howard C - Emeka Okafor (NBA no.1 draft pick)

You think Keith Bogans is ready to start in the NBA?
t-mac isnt gonna be in orlando much longer, and as for bogans they would have better luck putting T-mac at small forward and reece gaines at the 2 spot.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting STCBBall3:</div><div class="quote_post">Keith Bogans? You think Keith Bogans is ready to start in the NBA?</div> Heck, He's starting on the team right now, lol. IF not than replace him with Drew Gooden.
Troy Hudson is a great PG, he would definitely bring veteran leadership to any team he goes too. Hudson will opt out probably, I think he could possibly sign with the Bobcats or Mavericks. Bobcats need good veterans/players and the Mavericks are probably going to lose Steve Nash.
I would like to see him in Philly, we need a scorer off the bench espically at the pg postion. He brings a lot of energy off the bench but he will never be afraid to shoot and he will never hesistate that is a problem for anyteam that will have him.
Troy Hudson would be better in Philly, the only real scorers they have off the bench there are Willie Green and Kyle Korver and both of them are rookies. Hudson wont hesitate like B-22 said, the only good PG that Philly's got is Allen Iverson and Eric Snow.
