<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Pistons President Joe Dumars admits that a long, successful playoff run wouldn?t hurt the Pistons? chances of re-signing Rasheed Wallace this summer.

But, he is quick to add, the playoffs won?t make or break the deal.

?I have dealt with a lot of free agents, and there is a list of about four or five things that they all want,? Dumars said Saturday night in Orlando, Fla., before watching the Pistons rout the Magic, 101-89. ?They want to go to a contender. They want to play for a really good coach. They want to be around good guys. And they want to know if you can pay them.

?Now, if those things were posed to me in regards to Rasheed, the answer is yes, yes, yes and yes. Based on what guys are looking for in a situation, we meet all of the criteria. If somebody is looking for something outside of that, then it is outside my control.?

Wallace, who turns 30 on Sept. 17, will become a free agent in July. Since the Pistons own his Larry Bird rights, they can exceed the salary cap to sign him, meaning they can pay him more than any other team. He could become the first maximum-salary player in Pistons history.

Wallace and Dumars have agreed to put discussions of his future on hold until after the playoffs. </div>

With Rasheed you don't know. The Knicks say they want him, and Isiah isnt afraid to spend the big money.

Too bad for him he can't, the most NY can offer is the MLE

Sheed will be offered very good money by Dumars, Wallace will re-sign with Detroit with a contract of at least 5 years.

'Sheed's attitude has definitely improved and he seems happy and well loved down in Detroit now, a home where he belongs. I think he'll be staying especially since he's buddies with Big Ben, I wouldn't want a natural scorer like him to be with the likes of Marbury, getting possessions would be too difficult a task. He's going to be one of their stars, on a team that actually is a team, which probably won't mess up anything but will be a rarity instead.

Right now I'd be pretty surprised to see Rasheed sign anywhere else this offseason. Since he's been here he hasn't said anything about wanting to play for the Knicks. I figured that the Pistons had enough money to sign him.

Yes, Memo will resign. He understands now that the team traded away Atkins to free up space for him, he knows that he is wanted and he is one of the Pistons' top priorities. I'd think that it's more likely that he'll resign with the Pistons than that Rasheed will, but both are very possible right now.

'Sheed will stay because the team doesn't need to depend on him, all he has to do is play. There are no team issues ore anything. The Pistons are family. I expect 'Sheed to sign for less money maybe.
