I think so, he has played a huge part to their success this season and has turned out to be a fan favorite. If he doesn't get re-signed, he'll still get snapped up by other teams, maybe Charlotte.

There gonna regret it if they dont sign him, Skip has had rough seasons in the NBA but has improved every year and this year he is even a candidate for MIP. Skip to my lou will be an allstar someday.

^I doubt it. Only if his "street" cred makes him gain votes from nba fans.

I think so he has proven that he is capable of handling the backup point guard position and the heat have alot of cap room this year do to there lack of free agent signings last year (besides odam). Skip many also possible be moved to the starting lineup if he is resigned next year and jones is traded they would probable move wade to the 2 and play skip as a point he really deserves another contract he is there best three point shooter at 39% and he is one of the few good three point shooters on a team ranked last in the nba in three pointers made

Riley is definitely going to re-sign Skip, hopefully for a longterm deal. Skip is already established here in Miami, he has this local TV show that he hosts and everything and he's made a life for himself here outside of basketball. Skip wants to stay in Miami, the question is if the Heat will re-sign him or not, however they 99% will.

No he won't. Rafer is already 28, and by the beginning of next year he will be 29. The guy shot under .38% from the field. Thats not that good. He had a good year coming off the bench, but he will never be an All-Star.

Skip an allstar? I don't think so, as much as I love the guy. Maybe the fans will vote him in based on his rep but to be chosen over the other guards in the NBA for the allstar game is a huge stretch.

BTW does Miami have them money to sign Skip to a good contract? Obviously he is gonna ask for more cash but are they gonna give it to him?

I really haven't seen him produce to much in this series against the Hornets. But I haven't watched to much of any of their games. As far as Skip being an allstar, I don't think so either. But I think he can like 14.5 ppg and 6 1/2 dime type player. That's pretty good.

[IMG] Killaz, that's right. Just don't get carried away with the slang though. Good post about Russell on the NBA thread though.

a backup wont be an allstar. expecially with pg's like kidd, baron, marbury in the east well ahead of him.

he would need to go to a team where it can become his team so he can be seen as a superstar, if he ever becomes one. he wont be able too comin off the bench with talent like wade and cb on that team.

signing Skip should be one of the heats main priorities as he played a big role on the team. If they do not sign him, i will personally fly to Miami just to kick Pat Riley. As for skip becoming an all star, that comment is easy to reply to, the answer is no. He came a little too late as he is well into his prime now and i doubt he will be putting up bigger numbers than the point gaurd posted above me.

Skip should be signed by the heat, and if he isnt im going to laugh my ass off and jump on the bandwagon for whatever team he goes too. Skip To My Lou will definitely become an allstar.

No he won't, geez. Have you ever seen him play?! He is a good spark off the bench to knock down a couple threes, nothing more. I am 99.9% sure he will never be an all-star.

Yeah that's it .. He's a spark off the bench, I don't think he will be an all-star either ..

It would've been fun though ..
