Let me get this straight, for years on out, the lakers have been complaining that Kobe shoots the ball too much, then when he hoists us 13 shots in a game, they complain that he was being selfish? BS, Kobe got sick of it, hes making a statement that was a statement game for the lakers organization, basically saying "YOU CANT WIN WITHOUT ME" so they have to realize that kobe is future, and give him the respect he deserves instead of always putting the man down inside the organization The only reason the TEAM HATES KOBE so much is because Phil jackson wont give kobe the offensive freedom that he wants, kobe usually has to break through the Triangle and do his own thing. IF ANY OTHER COACH IN THE LEAGUE WAS TO COME IN AND COACH THE LAKERS, he wouldnt be able to say SQUAT TO KOBE, kobe would be his own coach. Kobe got tired of being ridiculed, damnit, hes the MAIN reason we have this many wins, and we went on an 11 game winning streak. Why do they keep making him the bad guy? what about shaq, cussing like a baby on TV, never playing defense, never wanting to STEP out on the defender outside of the paint, a lazy freethrow shooter who will never shoot over 60% from the line. Its easy to stop shaq, hes not as dominant anymore, he cant dunk over 3 defenders like before, so just foul him and watch him brick two free shots. Pathetic. When was the last time you remember shaq scoring 40, or ever 35+ on a consistent basis? and no its not because he "doesnt get enough touches" Its because he isnt able to get the same positioning in the post or under the key like he used to, he can't go against a double or triple team like before, he has lost a step, shortened him jump, he has lost his winning mentality. The lazy bum needs a lesson in playing with his heart sometimes, Kobe could teach him but, but as long as the GM's, coaches, players, and certain fans bring kobe down by calling him selfish, cocky, lucky, little brother, etc. etc., he will one day say Screw THE LAKERS, leave the organization, and leave all of us GREAT FANS IN THE DUST. And he has all the right to do that, i wouldnt blame him, he is still underrated, its sad. Let me state this now, and leave it at this, if kobe leaves, 4 seasons from now, when the lakers are a lottery team with crappy players, WE WILL BE WISHING HERE IN LA THAT WE STILL HAD THE GREAT #8 TO WATCH AT STAPLES, instead of luke walton, a 37 year old shaq (if not retired) and brian cook. We in LA are witnessing history here man, One of the greatest players EVER playing inside our city. Kobe is the equivelant to Michael Jordan to a lot of fans here in los angeles, why do we take advantage of that and state that it "might be better" if he leaves, he is the present and future of this organization, having Kobe gone would be the BIGGEST BLOW EVER TO THE LAKERS. BIGGEST-BLOW-EVER
there was a similar thread about this...u didn't need to make a new topic... anyways, Kobe is obviously of great importance to the Lakers and the city of Los Angeles. I don't think anybody is disputing that...it's been demonstrated over the last few games where kobe has struggled and the team lost... I don't know what to make of Kobe not shooting the ball the other day...I hope he wasn't trying to prove a point..Like J.A. Adande said in today's paper, "by passing the ball too much, Kobe may have played his most selfish game of the year." Like I said, I hope Kobe didn't do it on purpose...but if he did, I say shame on him....but its over with now...time to move on... the lakers are obviously not ready for the playoffs but hopefully they'll be able to clear things up with the within the next 6-7 games...(i realize only 2 games left in the regular season, but i'm confident the 1st round will be a breeze)
Im NEW!!! lol this is my second thread, second post, so excuse me if i didnt NOTICE another thread about a similar topic. AJ Adande is making a career off this seasons lakers, that guy is a nobody who always has some stupid opinion concerning the lakers, he just stirs things up, he used to be different, he was always a big LAKER FAN, now he has turned into another backstabbing reporter chasing money by writing crap that he thinks people would rather hear, instead of stating his own god given opinion.

^lol, Bill Plaschke bashes the lakers a lot too. You must be a T.J. Simers fan (like myself)...altho I don't always agree with Simers, he always keeps it real (he bashes everybody lol)... p.s. since you're new, i might as well tell u that double-posting is also a no-no...they're real hard about that here...
T.J is my man, he isn't one sided, but at the same time, he doesn't just negatively criticize the team, he brings out the positives as well. AJ and Bill always expose the negatives, the in-fighting, the stupid things that should'nt be talked about and just STIR things worse in lakerland.
Simers is very one-sided IMO... he's the biggest dodger and UCLA football hater in l.a. did u read his article where he suggested that the dodgers should have their own version of the rally monkey, but instead of a monkey, they should have a rally donkey aka a rally jackass. lmao.... or how he approached kobe and told him that his daughter (who is a ball player) was a better 3pt shooter. ...that night, kobe hit 12 treys, and Simers took all the credit the next day..lol Simers can be perceived as a jerk, but I like his stuff because he's witty and he isn't afraid to speak his mind...but he is very one-sided...he just goes about it differently well, i might as well attempt to stay on topic.... The other players seem to be saying that they believe Kobe didn't try to prove a point, altho we don't really know if that's how they really feel...lets hope this doesn't spill over to the playoffs
I dont totally agree with your opinion. While I do believe Kobe is really good, he is a bit selfish. I bet if Kobe leaves, his dominance will also leave. No longer will he have Shaq picking up the rebounds for him to take another shot. Once he misses a shot on a possession, there will be no one to pick up the rebound for him, so he will play a bit less freestyle and eventually lose it. MJ didnt have a true rebounder himself to pick up the ball, MJ had to make sure he get it in for most of the shots. And its making a big mistake. The same thing with Penny when he said he's better than Shaq and didnt need him. When Shaq left, Penny regretted everything he said and became a useless nobody. The same thing with Kobe, if he left, he'd fizzle out and become just a decent scorer but nothing more. Its easy to get confident when you're teammates can pick up rebounds good giving you second opportunities to score, but once u lose that luxury you play a bit more desperate, until eventually you lose much of your previous freestyle skills on the court. Kobe is not being treated unfairly, this spurred even more from the rape charges, and if thats the case, he deserves everything he gets right now.
Im not even going to respond to probably the most UNEDUCATED thread i have ever read in the history of message boards. Please proceed to go and jump off a cliff.

Ever heard of this guy? Because if it wasn't for his rebounding and defensive ability, the Bulls wouldn't have been what they were..

Anybody can see that Kobe isn't just a "decent" scorer, with or without shaq. U could say that he won't be as effective, fine, but only decent...that's absurd...
kobe is still arguably considered the best 2 -guard in the game, and im sure 7 out of 10 GM's will tell u the same thing Not to discredit Tracy Mcgrady...its that... tmacs stock just dropped this season, though i have MUCH LOVE FOR HIS GAME, i am a big TMAC fan, i just wish he would get a better supporting cast, and his team will be fine. If they draft Okafor, and get a healthy hill back, they will be East Contenders once again.
As a Kobe fan i love what you said Lakers. Lets not forget what Kobe has done for the Lakers. Im telling this once again. Dont worry about a thing. As soon as the playoffs begin Kobe and the Lakers will be focused and winning it all. Dont forget my words. Just because the Lakers played the worst game this season againt the Kings we all have to say sh*t about Kobe's game!! I will not do that. I love that #8 and always will. If Kobe leaves it would be a sad day in Lakers history.

How is Kobe suddenly being treated unfairly? I'm sure you watched the Laker games against San Antonio, Portland, and Sacramento and you feel he's being taken advantage of? Let me tell you his stats for those games. Combined he shot 17/62 from the field ok? I'm very disgusted with Kobe because he'd rather shoot the ball and clank it off the rim rather than distribute to his other 3 HOFer's on the team. He tries to put himself out of our triangle offense, and when things don't go his way, he'd rather act like a childish, ignorant, egomaniac child. That's what I can't stand about Kobe. I'm a huge Laker fan, Kobe is my favorite player, but when he does little things like this, it drives me crazy and it causes me to say frustrating things about him. Kobe has to learn that he can't always be the man all the time. I'm sure Shaq, Payton, or Malone all want that particular role, but there's nothing wrong with being a team leader and getting your teammates active and involved at any given time.

Well atleast it seems like there really was no conflict between Kobe and someone else. Gary was on the Best Damn Sports Show Period yesterday, and said there has not been any criticism or conflicts. When this came up I thought one of them would be Gary who spoke to Kobe about that, but it's looking like nothing happened. Phil Jackson also said that there has not been any citicism from what he has seen, so I guess there's something else going on? What we may never know but somethings up..
Kobe is getting what he deserves you cant go out and do that to your team and fans. think about it if that game was the only time you got to see kobe play would that be something you would remember for the rest of your life. i wouldnt. fans dont pay the outrageous prices for tickets to see their favorite player throw a temper tantrum like a 4 year old in a Toys R Us.

What kind of crap is that? you should be praising him for everything he has done for the lakers, not putting him down in his time of struggling. Shaq has done that too, been mad at phil, and refused to step up, i know this for a fact, it happened plenty of times when he would'nt get enough touches, and he would try to prove a point to the team. Just remember, stick to the man, hes going through hard times man. Try to have a RAPE allegation on your back, and still focus on playing basketball, hell still focus on doing ANYTHING. A RAPE CASE MAN!!! IT DOESNT GET ANY WORSE THEN THAT, BESIDES MURDER. so for one second, instead of being a selfish laker fan who just wants to win win and win, feel for your favorite player, and stick by his side through these tough times, he needs all the fans he could get right now.
