i agree with him^^, i vote for Doc Rivers, or byronn Scott, they both have expeirence and know what they are doing. They ALSO WILL USE THE BENCH!!! I hope we get an experienced GM too, he has the most important job. We need a GM that will be like Thomas of the Knicks, and be very agressive. Make some trades, BUT KEEP VINCE, WE CAN'T TRADE HIM!!! Keep VC, jalen, bosh, and maybe Marshall. Sign at least 1 center, i perfer Mark Blount, and get some depth on the team. then get a pg in the draft, or sign a OK pg in free agent. BUT WE SHOULD MAKE SOME DEAL!!!!!!!!
How about Jeff Bzdelik if he gets fired, or Jim O'Brien or Marice Cheeks (Philly). Byronn and Rivers are the obvious choices for everyone to make, I wouldn't want Byronn, but I wouldn't mind having the Doc. He has said he wants to go to a playoff ready team, so I don't know but he's also said he likes our city.
yo, agree with most of you, ko brought positive stuff to our team and i wish him good luck, although i m also happy he went, cause i wasnt always satisfied with his decisions in terms of use of players ...
Hey Guys, Here's something that I'm gonna say based on observation about KO. Firstly, I think that defensely, he's not that great of a coach. Keeping down another team from scoring only means slowing down the game offensively from our side. Secondly, KO's choice of wording losses is not great. He always believed that we played well despite the fact that we lost. Thirdly, he has always said that making the playoffs was going to be difficult for our team. Where's the motivation? KO is a rookie coach and he teaches like a rookie coach. Don't tell me about teamwork. I have seen none this season. It was always about Carter running the floor and it continues to be Carter running the floor while everyone else hangs around to get the ball from Carter. There's no teamwork in this people. Let KO go, we don't want average, we want wins.
i just hiope we get a coach that can motivate vince, and get him driving to the rack and dunking and getting to ft stripe alot more rather than shooting those ghey shots.

I was playing and an older friend/aquaintance brought an interesting theory to me. He asked who I thought would replace KO, and i spat the obvious doc rivers, byrone scott. He said Leo Rautins would be our next coach. I'm not sure if this was borught up int he official off season thread, but what are your opinions on this?

Hmm, interesting, and in my post didn't it say Maurice Cheeks (Philly), yes, yes it did Yes Jim O would be good, but to let you know their's been huge speculation about Bzdelik being fired and people are wondering why since he's done so much for the team. http://www.denverpost.com/Stories/0,1413,3...2004860,00.html http://www.denverpost.com/Stories/0,1413,3...2066962,00.html Tomasson: Fans come to defense of Bzdelik Their are more but I'm not in the mood to go find them now......
Unbelievable, so many ppl like KO even though he's not producing any good stats. But some ppl still are down on Carter while he is having good stats. Yes, we all want to see Carter slash thru and drive, but if u keep giving him the ball and letting the defence know, how can he do that? With KO's system only Vince is the offence, and if thats it, then I could take his job easily and do the same thing. Yes they screw up defensive assignments, just say, c'mon man on man! Its easy for him to talk drinking his stupid coke cans, without even drawing up any real plays. I bet he's made none of the offence for the team, it's always Vince and stuff that has to do it. Anyone can call a timeout when your team is losing a bit. What makes it worst is that KO is stubborn, he said "I dont give minutes to ppl that dont deserve it." What about MOISO? He's played pretty good, he doesnt even fumble the ball at all, and whenever he plays, he always looks like he knows what he's doing. You cant expect one player in Vince to do it all. If hes the only one, its like 5 guys on one then, no one can get thru a triple team. Then some ppl want Vince traded, thats just ignorant. Vince is the only one on hte team that could possibly handle double teams, and they are the ones that want HIM traded, they want the highlight reel player, top 10 scorer, etc traded. their reason? Bad season, not a good leader. Do you think McGrady led his team to the playoffs? They even have a worst record. Oakley hit it on the head when he said that only 1 superstar cant lead a team on his own, you look at the good teams, they all have really good players, more than one. So, im glad they let go of KO. He's just too resistant to change. Yes this was very off topic.. and the 2nd part had nothing to do with KO's ability. Just saying things, KO has no faith in the team either. Hes always said I wouldnt change anything, so that means that's the best that can be done with the team? KO=fired

Well, KO is officially out of the MLSE team. To bad he ripped those comments, IT was going to be up to the new management to decide to fire him or not. http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=1783832 <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post"> TORONTO -- A day after coach Kevin O'Neill questioned the <u><font color="#00009b">Toronto Raptors</font></u>' commitment to winning, they fired him. Interim general manager Jack McCloskey told O'Neill of the decision Friday. O'Neill's job status was already shaky when, on Thursday, he said the franchise is just excited to be part of the NBA and not focused on winning. "He said 'You know, Jack, I screwed up yesterday. You told me to play things cool. I made a mistake,"' McCloskey said. The Raptors finished 33-49 this season and missed the playoffs for a second straight year. Toronto also fired general manager Glen Grunwald on April 1 after a rift between O'Neill and Grunwald became public. Team president Richard Peddie said then that a new general manager would decide whether O'Neill would return, but the team decided not to wait. </div>
Raptors show interest in Harris <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">SACRAMENTO, Calif. - The Toronto Raptors requested permission to talk to Del Harris about their coaching vacancy, Mavericks owner Mark Cuban confirmed before Game 1. Cuban would grant permission, he said, but Harris "isn't interested" in the position. Harris declined comment, saying: "I don't talk about those types of things." Harris, set to coach the Chinese national team at this year's Summer Olympics in Athens, is in his fourth full season as an assistant with Mavs.</div>
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">O'Neill out the door: Nice exit by Kevin O'Neill, who pretty much assured he'll never get another NBA head-coaching job. He ripped the Raptors' organization--the one that gave him his only head-coaching job--to get himself fired after a season-long feud with general manager Glen Grunwald, who hired him. O'Neill then likened himself to TV personality Dr. Phil, saying he admires his act. "He was telling this woman she was a moron without her even knowing it," O'Neill said. "And she's like, `Yeah, thanks, Dr. Phil.' I'd be just saying `You know what, you're a moron, you better do something about yourself.' I'd be great having my own self-help show, wouldn't I?" O'Neill was a miserable coach, freezing out players like Lamond Murray and Jerome Moiso in personal feuds to show who was boss, always declaring he, alone, knew the proper way to play. "I'm probably an inflexible guy because I just have certain things I believe in and I don't waver on," O'Neill said. "That's just the way it is." Which all is fine, except it's not college. It's a players' league, and the good coaches understand that and work within those bounds</div>. The KO Files
wow...i haddnt heard those rumours about bzdelik being sent packing. seems like a bad move, but id still rather see the raps getting someone like jim o'brien del harris would be a good move too. id like to see him come aboard
ummm....there were several rumors about jeff packing.... i want o'brien as our coach too. he only left the celts because management wasa bitch and he volunteeraly left.

O'Brien stepped down as coach of the Celtics on Jan. 27 after clashing with Danny Ainge, the team's executive director of basketball operations.
