<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post"> Allen Iverson told Philadelphia president Billy King what he wanted to hear at their season-end meeting: Iverson wants to stay with the Sixers.

"He said he wants to be a part of it," King said Tuesday. "He's been here when it was bad, when it was good, to now when we're not in the playoffs. He says he loves it and doesn't expect to see himself ever playing for another team."

Iverson, a five-time All-Star, continues to be the subject of trade speculation in Philadelphia. Before this season, he signed an extension that goes through 2008-09, but after another year in which he fought with the coach, a change seemed possible.

thats great glad that is put to rest I think it is one of the reason the sixers year was not good because of all the trade speculations and injuries it all led to a bad season in one now mabye the trade speculation will shift to glenn robinson who missed 36 games this year

If Iverson wants to stay here and does return next season, he better act like he wants to play here. Don't say one thing and then do another.

AI is staying in Philly [IMG]. Lets just hope Mo Cheeks come and join him.

I agree. This is the same thing that happen 3 years ago. With all those rumors of him getting traded and going to Detroit. Iverson cleaned up his act up a little and the Sixers organazation gave him one more chance. Iverson clearly said during the team practice before their first game that "This season is going to be all eye's on me". What happen? MVP season. All Star Game MVP. Led team to Finals. Next season isnt going to be any different. Im not too sure about the MVP part because, TD and KG seem as if they will be getting it for the next couple of years. But I believe that Iverson will play one of his best season next season. Beware...

Why is everyone getting this way out of proportion. Of course Allen was to stay with the Sixers organization, who would they trade him for? Then the funny thing is, when news of this shows up, everyone starts backing Allen. He's gonna lead us to the finals and whatnot, weren't some of you saying this, this season. This is because you thought two old men and a superstar could do this. The reason we went to the finals that year was because of Coach Brown and because we had a strong defensive presence, this year and every year since then we have not. Until we get a lock on some good veteran defensive players, the first round is our only chance. Plus, whatever happened to Allen's injury, and him maybe not even being able to recupirate (sp?) as early as the beginning of next season. Glenn will most likely go, as he has not shown much this year, same with Derrick.

Don't get your hopes up that quick for a great playoff run or a strong season, there's a very good chance that next season will not be shy of this years.

Yeah if the Sixers were to make it to the plaoffs AI would have played his injury said 2-4 weeks.I think the Sixers have a good defensive future since they have Sam Dalembart I thinmk when hed matures he will be what we need.Samuel had a season avarage of 2 bpg.

So what you're saying is you're going to put the future of the team on a 23 year old kid that got playing time due to injuries? Don't get me wrong, I like Sammy and I think he could be a real force in the league, but he needs time. Don't think about the future, think about this year, this season! This was an embarrasment to the city of Philadelphia, and we need to turn it around. Some major trades need to go down, and we need to get players a la George Lynch, Bruce Bowen.

I don't think bringing back old players like George Lynch will solve anything. Remember when we bought Tyrone Hill back. :thumbsdow

I know what your saying. Sure we need more defense. But in order to have sucess in the upcoming season. Allen Iverson is the number one priority. Sure we cant get Theo, Mo Cheeks, Get rid of Glenn etc... But none of that wont matter if Allen isnt on the team. But now that the Sixers know that Allen Iverson will be here next season. They can start changings things up.

There goes my dream of having AI and T-Mac on the same team [IMG] .

Since most of you guys have mentioned about the PF position , what would you guys say trade Sixers 1st round pick for Juwan Howard and Andrew DeClerq ? after all the first picks are going to be big men which aren't as many and you guys don't need any PG's SG's or SF's ...Juwan and Big Dog for the PF spot? that's just great Juwan is a role player he could give you 15 7 every night.

If for some reason they pick Jameer Nelson, then I wouldn't want a trade.

I can't sit here and say that I like everything that he does and he makes the best decisions all the time cause I'd be lying. And not once did I say he's gonna lead us to the finals and whatnot, but I can guarantee next season will be better than this one.
