Losin Skip pisses me off the most of all of them tho... man, Raps need to get it together for next year for real man.
Every team releases players and regrets it later on. This just doesn't happen to the Raptors. Also different players react differently to different teams. There are some situations that players cannot succeed in and its best to find their way with another team. Although I thought not re-signing Skip was really bad on Grunwalds part when it happened. Not because he's sucessful but because he was a good point guard who pushed the ball and got his teammates involved. Now we have to deal with Milt Falacio.
Skip was on a 10 day contract when he signs with the raps and really proved himself in those games so they resigned him...then just let him go Milt Palacio....i cant stand that guy...the way he plays just pisses me off...they said Skip causes a lot of turnovers, look at Milt.. i cant believe no one emphasized Chauncey Billups cause he was just a bench guy when he was in TO and moved around (Minny) before finally establishing himself in Detriot... if its not meant to happen, it wont....many careers would have been different if they had landed somewhere else and some players wouldnt have developed into what they did without being in a certain place...
skip was a bad descision, but only in hindsight. at the end of the season he was turning over the ball a lot, shooting really poorley, he wasnt playing well at all, and to let him go didnt seem like a big loss. but hindsight is always 20/20
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Skip:</div><div class="quote_post">Losin Skip pisses me off the most of all of them tho... man, Raps need to get it together for next year for real man.</div> i totally agree. personally iadmit i didnt think Skip was going to be as good as he is now....however, i knew we would be better off with him than MILT PALACIO!
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Skip:</div><div class="quote_post">Yea, we need Skip back... COME BACK!!! </div> i doubt that would happen though. hes been doing well with miami and the raptors didnt give him much interest after the season ended. i expect him to resign with miami or go to phily (they were very interested in him).
Skip was not consistent enough...plain and simple...he didn't have anything resembling a decent jump shot when he was with the Raptors and when he was released he probably worked really hard to improve it in the offseason to prove that he could play in the NBA, which bring us to where he is now i'm still not convinced that he is point guard the Raptors need right now...we need someone to give JR and VC their shots but is also good enough to make the jump shot to get defenders to stay on them and not double vince or jalen

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting harry_balls5:</div><div class="quote_post">well, bottom line is signing skip wouldnt have been better than signing palacio.....</div> Maybe not. Judging from KO's style and selection of players to put on the court, Skip might not even have gotten a chance under O'Neill. It's all about luck and lack of foresight that the Raptors never got better ends of deals. Hope the new GM can change that.
Yea thats true. It's not like Skip woulda played just as well with Raps... it all depends on the environment, players you roll with, and coach that guide you. Just like actors, you can have as much talent as you want, but without right script, right story, or right director, you can star in bunch of wackass movies, same thing here.
