Just got news that Hudson will get surgery and will be out for quite some time. That means Darrick Martin will be on the playoff roster and Troy will stay on the IR. Hudson is done for the season. No link yet, but I'm sure there will be one soon.

He an excellent scorer But I think the mesh of this team wasnt really built for what he brought to the table. The wolves didnt need another scorer at the point guard spot. they need more of a point guard who distributes the ball. Derrick Martin has done a solid job of that off the bench. Hopefully it will continue in the playoffs. This opportunity might even motivate Derrick Martin. This is his chance to make a statement of why he should find a home in the NBA. He has been a journeyman from his days as a Clipper.Basically playing on 10 day contracts.

Anthony Johnson is a perfect example. Last season with the Nets. He was a 10 day contract PG but made the playoffs because the Nets cut Chris Childs late in the season. Johnson didnt play alot of minutes in the playoffs. But he was extremely effective in the minutes he did recieve as the backup during the playoffs. the Pacers was impressed with Johnson during the playoffs. So they offered Jonson a contract during the offeseason. And now it seems like AJ has found a home. He has been a major contributor to the Pacers efforts. And it all stems from him being an add on PG for the Nets last year.

So there is room for both the T-wolves and Martin to both gain something out of this situation. Troy Hudson scoring will be missed. But Martin brings something different to the table. If Martin can spread the ball around to the other capable scorers on the 2nd unit like Wally, Kandiman, Fred then it can make up for at least some of the scoring Hudson provides.

Better to have him sit than to toggle with what the team has going right now... Darrick Martin is accomplishing the few tasks given to him, and isnt trying to take away from others.

I feel bad for the guy, he will be missed. But maybe this will get him to not opt out of his contract this summer.

Yeah I heard this on NBA Fastbreak they were saying that this was a good think and that Troy was only going to ruin the T-Wolves chances at a ring.If I was Troy I would be offended.

He'd be foolish opting out now after missing 53 games with ankle injuries, including a season-ending operation.

If THud returns next season, which I think is likely, I'd want Flip to use that to motivate Troy.

I'd say trading Troy for a first round draft pick would be a great decision. He doesn't really fit with the team as it is right now. For the backup PG the Wolves would need a pass-first, defensive minded, hard-nosed PG, everything Troy is not. I like him a lot, but we'd be better off with a draft pick. I believe Sammy has a good few years left in him, and he's not going anywhere soon.

Do you think there would be ANY way of using T Hud in a trade to get Bobby Jackson back? He was one of my favorites and we shouldn't have let him go. If not, do you think we could use an impressive 4 like Drew Gooden? T Hud could go back to Orlando where they want another Point.

I mean bench 4. The reason is that the Wolves were going to make room for Howard, we can use Goodin and continue to get young and strong.

I doubt the Magic would give up Gooden for Troy or anyone else we can offer. They'd gladly get rid of Juwan Howard, who I hope we won't trade for. Besides, I like Madsen as a backup 4, he brings hustle and energy, which is good even if he misses some buzzer-beater layups sometimes...

Bobby Jackson, man I'd love to have him too, but he's not coming back and certainly not for Troy. I can't see a scenario where we can get him, altough anything is possible. Also, he's not what we need. We already have a shoot first PG, we need one, who distributes the ball and Bobby is not that great of a passer. I'd be happier if we could somehow sign Skip to my Lou.

    Possible Troy Trades

    <font color="DarkSlateBlue">Minnesota trades</font>:
PG Troy Hudson (7.5 ppg, 1.2 rpg, 2.4 apg in 17.3 minutes)
    C Ervin Johnson (1.9 ppg, 3.5 rpg, 0.4 apg in 14.6 minutes)
SG Latrell Sprewell (16.8 ppg, 3.8 rpg, 3.5 apg in 37.8 minutes)

    <font color="Sienna">Minnesota receives</font>:
PF Drew Gooden (11.6 ppg, 6.5 rpg, 1.1 apg in 79 games)
PF Juwan Howard (17.0 ppg, 7.0 rpg, 2.0 apg in 81 games)
SG Tracy McGrady (28.0 ppg, 6.0 rpg, 5.5 apg in 67 games

    OR

    <font color="DarkSlateBlue">Minnesota trades</font>:
PG Troy Hudson (7.5 ppg, 1.2 rpg, 2.4 apg in 17.3 minutes)

SG Tracy McGrady (28.0 ppg, 6.0 rpg, 5.5 apg in 67 games)

Why Orlando does it: It clears out the logjam at PF for potential superstar Okefor or Howard, clears capspace to replace TMac with Ray Ray after next season, they finally get a competent PG.

Why we'd do it: We add another assassin to the arsenal in TMac, we upgrade the backup PF spot, with an additional player to trade for another PG.

This is purely speculation & it doesn't make alot of sense but it's something to work from.

Take Gooden out from the trade, add Wally and Orlando might consider it.Maybe it would even work if
    Minnesota trades:
    Wally
    Micheal
    Troy
2 future 2nd round draft picks
    for
    Gooden
    Howard
    McGrady

as for Bobby Jackson,Kings would trade him for Sam Cassell, but it wouldn't be worth it.

Take out Michael & Howard, replace Wally with Spree & I'd consider it. Wally & Kandi are deal-breakers, Kandi because he's a perfect fit for this team with his defense, rebounding & shotblocking; Wally for his defense-stretching shooting ability.

No teams with no real PG's, Sixers, Bucks, Magic and Celtics have anyone worthwhile trading. Although the Cavaliers have McInnis now, maybe you could trade him for someone to use as a reliever or backup. You need one awesome sixth man to replace him, none are up for grabs, most of them are keepers.
