No offense to Dallas Fans, but have you seen the Mavs play defense (or NOT, as would be closer to reality)?

How they can single one guy out of an entire team of players who don't play good defense is beyond me. [IMG]

No offense to anyone here, but Toronto fans are some of the worst on the Net for creating thier own rumors, IMO. Far too many times, they are one-sided, pipe-dreams to boot.</div>

Yes, right up there with the New York Post and Peter Vescey.

The only way I see Steve Nash going to the Raptors is a sign and trade deal. It would probably have to involve a third team, because the Mavs would need a big man in return. Two factors that could effect Nash's decision, is Nellie going to be the head coach next season, and the development of Marquis Daniels.

Nellie was the Coach/GM who gave Nash his opportunity to be a star in the league. If the Mavs have a disappointing playoffs, we could very well see Cuban blow up this team starting with Nellie.

nash being a native of canada would probably want toronto as his new team if he was traded, but thats a big if, nash has shown no interest in leaving the mavericks frnachise, and even if he is sick of the play style in dallas, it is a heck of a lot better than the likes of toronto, but he might just want a change. My conclusion, sorry boys a trade or signing isnt gonna happen, Nash will get and extention, he is the heart and sole of dallas, and even if he isnt the best player there, he is the most important.

This rumor has been around for months, and I highly doubt this will happen. Nash has said three times that he'd love to finish his career in Dallas. I've read many articles on this, and they eventually die down after a couple days, I doubt this will come true.

Nash had also said at the beginning of the season that he would rather play for a hometeam...aka canada..since the grizlies moved to memphis...toronto is the only team

He also said that he has built up great relationships in dallas and would rather finish his career there.

I would love to see Nash in a raptors uniform. If cuban is going to keep pushing his team on the offensive side and not put forth any push for the defensive side. I dont blame Nash for maybe wanting to leave. I mean with all those scorers its hard for one man to distribute the ball properly to there star which is Nowitzki. In toronto there will be a star, a couple of role players, loving family members, history, and fans praising Nash's return to Canada.

nash said that his first choice is dallas. if it doesnt work out he would come to toronto.

how much cap spaces does toronto have to pay him? unless the raps can do a sign and trade the idea seems impossible bcuz nash wouldnt take so llittle cash.

but i think nash might actually want to come to toronto if it works out financially. canada is his home but also dallas isnt ever getting far in the playoffs. the defense is clearly not there for that team. toronto is lacing a point and a cantre. if has comes to fill the point and the raps draft a dependable big man then toronto would certainly be a team to be recoken with.

The Raptors can sign and trade for him. Dealing Jalen Rose and Alvin Williams to Dallas for Nash and a filler will work out. Cuban would take the extra firepower.

Drik for Vince Carter? why would they want to do that, to reunion those formal Tar Heels, or to decrease the mintues of Michael Finley, Josh Howard, Maquies Daniels, Antwan Jamison. Three of those players will have to sit on the bench more often like Gary Payton in the Lakers. Not a good trade for both teams. If they want to trade Dirk, trade him to Portland for Theo Ratliff or Golden State for Eric Dampier. They need big guys not wing players.

the suggested deal was Nash for Jalen Rose and Alvin williams, not Dirk for Vince.

Nash coming to T.O aint gonna happen, unless Nash is REALLY interested in playing in Canada...

#1 thing you guys forget....TORONTO is NOT his hometown so stop saying he'd rather play for his hometown...hes from Victoria, which is in BC, which is near Vancouver which is where the grizzlies were located...

#2--> Cuban isnt gonna give up Steve that easily....

#3--> thers not one player on the raptors who would be of good use to the mavs (aside from Marshall) because they need to strengthen thier defense and getting Jalen Rose and Alvin would not help that cause (AW is a decent defensive threat but his age/injuries are catching up to him) + (Jalen Rose is too much of a shoot first player and plays horrendous defense at times)

also if they traded nash it would be only for a player of better defensive caliber and equal passing, and there are only two or three of those players in tthe league.

regarding the salary cap issue...nash might not get paid a lot...but he has to think canada would be a better publicity place than dalls...just look at JYD...in canada, he got all these commercials and charities..and in the US...he's just another one of those players...

i think Nash sees it as an option if it doesn't work out with Dallas (although, there is no reason it shouldn't, Cuban is loyal to the players that play well for him and reward them accordingly)....we all know Cuban has more than enough resources to get it done

The Raps don't have much in the way to offer Nash, he would have to take a huge pay-cut from another team he could sign with...and he would have to really want to play for T.O for that to happen

Nash needs to be in Toronto where he belongs. Vince and Nash, great chemistry.
