    I think it is possible...

The steelers coming off the bye week can either mean
    1) They have watched extra game film, extra practice, extra work to beat the patriots.
    2) or 2 come out cold from being on a bye week...

Im hoping its 1 i'd like to see the steelers do it

The patriots could just get lucky and get all the breaks, i mean it has happened 21 straight times now. JK pats fans no need to flame me. Luck is when preparation meets opportunity

I think we can win, but I'm not sure we will win.

Me too brother, me too. If we lose, I just hope we learn. We can get to the playoffs. And then anything can happen.

Patriots have gotten lucky a few times during their streak, but they are for real. Personally, I hope the Steelers win. But I won't hold my breath.

After 21 straight wins, it becomes increasingly difficult to bet against them. How do you rationalize your victory against them? The Jets were undefeated last week. What is your arguement? Saying,"I think we can win, but I'm not sure we will win." or "i have high hopes", is not very convincing.

Someone told me he thought the Jets would win....I pointed out that no game scenario favors the Jets or any other team....by that I mean:

who is gonna blowout the Patriots? not likely anyone

who has the advantage in a close game? the team thats won 21 straight of them

the Patriots dont beat you, they just refuse to beat themselves and wait for you to beat yourself....unlike most teams, they dont have a problem punting and playing defense....the Jets beat themselves by turing it over in the redzone....someone will eventually beat the Patriots and it will likely happen soon, but ask yourself those 2 questions each week, its hard to pick against them....

Well... to say that the Steelers will beat the Patriots isn't exactly something that can be said with all confidence. No one has done it since Sept 28th, 2003. So, I do think we can win. We've played well, we have a good O-line, good running game, great receivers, a good young QB, a rejuvinated defense, and it's a home game. But to put it on Roethlisberger's shoulders might be a little much. My keys to victory are posted in another thread. I assure it's been broken down.

It's not a game the Steelers are supposed to win. Remember, we were picked to finish around 6-10. It's great just to be in the race.

This is a tough one to call. The Pats will lose someday, so if you keep guessing against them, you will eventually be the one to say "I guessed it."

Don't overlook the sub-par teams as the ones to beat them too. There are lots of examples where a good team finally got a decent streak snapped by a bad team.

I remember the mighty 7-0 Cowboys back in the 90s being embarrased 27-0 by a hapless Hebert-led Falcons team. I also believe a streaking Packers team also put together a poor performance giving the Colts one of their few wins of the year.

    You can't overlook anyone....

And who can forget the Miami Dolphins knocking off the Bears during their 15-1 season on Monda Night Football? Man, that game was surreal...

I think the Steelers will have this game in hand. The Patriots are bound to lose eventually, and as everyone has pointed out, they simply play smart football, that's how they win. There is no magic formula to what they are doing.

And the Steelers at 5-1 ARE a bad team? I think it's very much on topic...

Mine was in response to cowboy71's comment on bad teams beating very good teams. Had nothing to do with steelers.

I love the build up in tension. I think the Pats fans are very proud and won't swallow a loss very easily. Of course the same can be said for the Steeler fans. We don't want to lose even if it might be an inevitability. I think it will be a good game either way.
