he didnt mean that the tri-state will be dominated by nets fans and nets billboards and everything. he just meant the best team out of the two. the knicks have a history that we can never match. every since he has been here, the nets have been #1 and still are currently #1. knicks will have to wait until next year to reclaim the #1 spot in the tri-state and atlantic division. with the possibility of gettin rasheed in the offseason, they could put up a fight against us next year.
J.Kidd just wants some repect here in the tri-state area. The Nets have made it to back to back finals with little fan fare.And media attention. Yet the local media goes crazy this season cause the knicks make the playoffs with a below .500 record. The Nets have never gotten the respect deserved and this series is just the 1st stepping stone of the Nets getting their respect with the NY/NJ local media. I think alot of people already know the Nets are better then the knicks but truth is they really dont care. The knicks have such a storied NBA history, its going to be hard for the Nets to get there just do compared to the knicks.
It's because eventhough the Nets dominated the Knicks, it never really happened in a playoffs situation. So when the Nets dominate the Knicks in the first round, there SHOULD be changes in the situation.
even when the nets win, you know EVERYONE will use the knick xcuse about them having so many new players and a new coach that they aren't even playing as a team. they will all say wait till next year when they have a full training camp and season as a group. they are going to start using the redsox and cubbies slogans of wait till next year. either way, the nets cant win in this. you hear most sports writters or talk show hosts say a healthy nets team will dominate the knicks. but when we win, people will say we were supposed too. if we lose, we will get ripped. we can't win in this situation
