<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">BY JOHN DENTON FLORIDA TODAY ORLANDO -- On one hand, it's as though the Orlando Magic are in as dire straits as their hideous 21-61 record suggests. Superstar Tracy McGrady is contemplating a possible departure, the team has little salary cap room to make improvements and the defense this season was historically bad. But then there are the rays of hope that the franchise is clinging to now as it heads into what just might be the team's most important offseason in its 15-year history. Grant Hill is reporting no pain in a left ankle that is being held together with five three-inch screws and is contemplating a comeback as a point guard. Sharpshooter Pat Garrity is expected to make a full recovery following four surgeries on his right knee. And in addition to having $6 million to spend on a free agent this summer, the Magic also own the best odds of getting the top pick in the NBA Draft by virtue of having the league's worst record. </div> What Will The Magic Do? I guess the Magic have been reading these boards.LOL I'm glad they're gonna give G.Hill a shot to play the point. Hopefully, he's back to his old self cause he'll have no problem running the team. He had his best years when he was playing the point in Detroit. This is why I think we need a big man more than a PG. We already have a guy who can play the point on our team! What we don't have is a defensivc big man. I think the T-Mac situation comes down to one person and one person only............................................................................ .................................. GRANT HILL. If he's back to playing ball again then I think T-Mac will stay. Hill was one of the reasons T-Mac came to Orlando. If he's not, then that's $93 mill eating up the cap and you can't get anyone legit with that hole.
If Grant Hill does try.. And fails.. He takes his contract and goes home.. We can't mess with him and his contract if hes just sitting on the bench..
He'll be back and play half the season, and the classy person that he is, he will either take a paycut or retire and we'd have 15 mil to spend the following summer. If Tmac leaves, we'll have 30 mil to spend.
I'm positive this time , I don't know why but I feel he is going to be back and if he does play at the PG position he will average 10+ppg 5+ppg hopefully 15 and 7 or something like that , is not only him dropping good numbers but him talking with T-Mac about staying and what they could do.
First the Magic need Defense I think thats their biggest weakness you dont need a lot of more scorers, just role players with good defense, players like Bruce Bowen or Trenton Hassel. They will likely end up with an inside pressence in Emeka Okafor.
