I don't think McInnis will be a star in this league. At the most maybe one allstar appearance (if the Cavs are an elite team) for him is foreseeable. I really think he is just a solid player in the mold of Eric Snow right down to the mid-range jumper and tough defence. He has never made any all star games in his career but is regarded as one of the top point guards in the NBA for his solid play on both ends of the court. The situation is completely different from his though (with Iverson being a baby, taking all the shots etc..) and I will want to see how his career developes during the years. Allstar for one year? Yes, but being consistently chosen? No. But that does not mean that can't be one of the top point guard's in the league.
McInnis may not be a superstar but i think he has already established himself as a difference maker for a team. He is a essential part of a team that wants to be great. He makes his team better and in turn that makes him better, I remember when he was on the Wizards he was my favorite player, I have always admired the way he plays the game
oh of course mcinnis will never be a perennial all-star, but look at the point guards who are - with the exception of kidd, they're all primarily scorers! in all honestly i'd FAR rather have a pg who looks to pass first rather than looking for his own shot... though of course still being able to score when needed to
McInnis has developed as much as he ever will. He's a 30 year old veteran. He's not an all star but is a solid PG. I hope the game he has shown and the attitude he's had since coming to Cleveland continue. He has caused problems and has had problems with teammates and coaches everywhere he's played in the NBA. Hopefully those days are behind him and he's finally matured.
the only problem j-mac has caused the cavs this season was out of his control, his devastating injury!! other than that, the only problems he causes are directed to opposing defenses! i will admit that little outburst in chicago ticked me off, but the cavs need his vocal leadership because while lebron is vocal when he needs to be, every great team needs a talker who does his talking the right way like j-mac does. man did i love it against miami when he and rafer alston were gettin into it each time down the floor. i would really love to listen in when j-mac plays against gary payton, u could put that stuff on comedy central.
