Nice, I thought it would of been Big Ben..but Ron was more deserving..lock down D and added a nice array of offensive moves to his arsenal

yeah ben did deserve it to, but Ron is just a lockdown on the perimeter defensively...he is arguably the heart and soul of the best team in the NBA, and it is not because of his offense, altho he is an improved scorer...he can literally stop anybody easily whenever he is focused and determined, which is 100% of the time...

Good job ron artest he has really shown growth not only on his on the court production but his maturity in controling his temper he was only suspended 1 game this year although he did come off the bench in one. And today when the arguement between I believe brandon hunter of the celtics and jermain oneal broke out ron artest was on the bench only took a few steps onto the court while in years past he would have been right in the middle of the fight.

Ron Artest's defensive work is really shown in the pacers game plan today he guarded paul pierce paul pierce shot a horrible percentage scoring 20 points but taking well over 20 shots to do it. Not only that but he has averaged 2.08 steals this season. Plus he has one of those Dennis Rodman things going for him where he can get inside your head during a game also taking you out of your rythem.

And his offensive numbers arent to bad either as he averages 18.3 points a game second on the pacers team. In my mind after jermain oneal artest is the most valuable player to that pacers team no disrespect to reggie miller but without artest that team loses a major contributor on both the offensive and defensive ends of the court even though Al harrignton substituted well for artest when he went down during the regular season with the thumb injury without artest the pacers dont make it out of the east.

I think I posted some informal awards in another thread, those were basically how the awards were going to go. KG, Lebron, Artest, Jerry Sloan etc.

on the topic of ron artest, do you think the NBA will suspend ron artest for getting onto the floor when jermaine o'neal and brandon hunter were going at it?

They did for tonight's game. I think thats pretty bad of them. He barely ran on the court, and ran back.

artest's susspension is a joke. It's about time the league was a bit more tough, look at the knicks, heat rivalry, that was fantastic!

I thought it was going to Big Ben again but Artest played real great this year. Congratulations Artest. Its been a while since a player other than a center won the award.
