<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The league is also reportedly reviewing Hunter's foul of O'Neal and could charge Hunter with a flagrant foul. A flagrant foul two would result in a one-game suspension for Hunter. Carlisle, who intimated Sunday that Hunter was inserted into the game for the express purpose of getting physical with O'Neal, said that foul has to be dealt with if Artest's actions are under scrutiny. </div> I don't know whether to do this or this Rick, we know you're the Pacers coach and have to try to spin the situation your way, but honestly, have you even looked at the tapes? Watch them and then shut up. You're wrong and you'll see that if you watch the tapes. O'neal clearly instigated first contact and then proceeded to lock Hunters arm up while flailing about in an effort to draw a foul. Hunter got free by tossing his butt to the floor and deservedly so. Should Hunter's action merit a Flagrant foul? I figured he was going to get one that night, so I've got no problem with the league issueing one on him. Fact is JO, don't try to create bogus fouls and stuff like this won't happen. No one owes you respect because "You're Jermaine O'Neal". Actions dictate respect and yours were classless and reaked of a flopping Vlade Divacs. <u>BTW RICK:</u> <font color="Red">Artest only took 3 steps out onto the floor, huh?</font> Well, that just goes to show that you're becoming a regular facet of the NBA, because you can't spot and call extra steps either.
Thank god, finally the NBA steps up and does what it is supposed to, good job David Stern, can't believe I'm saying that. But if Carlisle really thinks Hunter should be given a flagrant, than JO should as well, he initiated it and he went to attack Hunter after the play. <div class="quote_poster">Quoting hagrid:</div><div class="quote_post">BTW RICK: Artest only took 3 steps out onto the floor, huh? Who cares if he suspended for one game. Pacers will end up winning by 15 instead of 25. But what Artest did just showed his loyalty to his teamates. But on the other hand. He got suspended.
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Who cares if he suspended for one game.</div> People who want to actually see the NBA uphold it's own rules instead of looking the other way when it's to thier benefit.

I guess nobody remembers Patrick Ewing against the Miami Heat? Ewing got suspended for soemthing similar. And the Celtics will not lose by 15, I'm predicting a 5 point victory.
I hope Pierce goes off in game 2 without Artest on him, its the only way I see the Celtics stealing game 2 and getting back into this series.

If that does happen look for Artest to pull down Pierce's pants again

The funny thing about this is that Artest was going to receive his "Defensive Player of the Year" award before the game. He obviously can't be there.
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Artest was going to receive his "Defensive Player of the Year" award before the game. He obviously can't be there</div> Is that the rule, that he can't be in the building if he's suspended? I honestly don't remember. Thanks.
The Celtics are gonna pay for their lobbying: Artest will be a man possessed when he returns (even more than he usually is )
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The Celtics are gonna pay for their lobbying:</div> Yeah, it was Carroll's comments that prompted the suspension. Because, We all know that Stern and the League office loves helping the Celtics out so much.....

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">I'm sure they will just award him with it at their next playoff home game.</div> If that's the rule, then I would say the above quote is a more than likely scenario, if for no other reason than to get the crowd jacked up. Not that they should need it, but hey, why not?
I am not gonna say whether the league was right or wrong in suspending Artest, but the rules do state that you cannot leave the vicinity of the bench--and Artest broke that rule. However, in his defense, you could argue about the spirit of the game...blah,blah,blah. But it IS a playoff series, and you would think that the league would let him play. I can remember this happening to Brian Shaw I believe when the Lakers played the Pacers back in 2000...
He broke a rule and he's paying for his actions. It's that simple. The Pacers still have the depth, but this will give Boston an edge. They need to take advantage and try to take this game.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting hagrid:</div><div class="quote_post"> Yeah, it was Carroll's comments that prompted the suspension. Pierce just scored his series high in Game 2, 27 points. I hope he enjoyed that. EDIT:
