Wizards get: Allen Iverson, 2nd rounder for this upcoming draft Sixers get: Gilbert Arenas, 1st rounder this year... This came up on PTI... and it doesn't look like a bad trade... AI will really put fans in the seats while we can get more young talent... what do all of ya think?
are you kidding me. if billy king make this trade it will make everyone in philly forget the barkley trade. Arenas already signed with the wizards for way too much money, especially considering he is just a mediocre player at best ai is an all-star and olympian, two words HELL NO
i think it would not make sense 4 philly. arenas is a good player, but he is no one that can carry a franchise on his shoulders. plus sixers would lose its biggest fan attraction. no way this will happen(think and hope)

Mediocre at best...You obviously dont watch him play..he has the talent of being better than Iverson because he gets his teammates involved. I am a Wizards fan, and I HATE THIS DEAL. I dont want to lose Arenas, he will be a top 3 PG in the league on day, and I think he will be better than Iverson, that is just how i feel. He can rebound, pass, and score. He will be an all-star and an olympian. He is a lot younger than Iverson, and you dont get the headaches that you get with Iverson.
This is a joke right. Hold on let me laugh. Allen Iverson holds that team in place, and bringing in a younger guy who has much less talent, and desire than Allen is stupid. PTI should be embarrassed that they brought this up. I3 how does it look good at first. Look at it once, twice, or three times, it'll look the same, crappy.

If it did happen, you would get a top 5 pick and Arenas...who has the potential to be better than Iverson and is much younger. YOu get rid of Iverson who wont even come of the bench and his injuries are catching up to you. You obviously dont watch Arenas much to realize that he has "much less talent" He can score at will, and unlike Iverson...he passes the ball
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Q Rich3:</div><div class="quote_post"> and unlike Iverson...he passes the ball</div> 2003-2004 Season Allen Iverson- 6.8 apg Gilbert Arenas- 5 apg Hmm looks like Iverson is more of a passer in this comparrison.

On top of that he was averaging 26 points. But I doubt Gilbert Arenas would be a better player than Iverson in the long run. BTW Arenas really needs to work on his FT's.
There is no way you can compare Iverson to Arenas in any sense. Arenas will never match up to Iverson's caliber, never. Iverson is a one of a kind player. The injury thing could be of serious concern, and then again he could somehow recover from it. By the way, you seem to want to get rid of Arenas if this trade were to go down, which it clearly won't, because some guy/girl was just bored, and hit up RealGM. Anyways, with your stating the facts of how he is younger, and could IYO be better than Iverson, wouldn't you want to keep him?

Good point Sasha. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">4. he will never be an olympian</div> Out of all the things Iverson accomplished in his carrer. Thats the best you could bring up? Simply say he will never be an MVP. I'm not trying to bring Gilbert Arenas down or disrespect him or anything. I personally think that he will be a great player in the future. Might even make the Top 10 players in the league when he reaches his prime. But him being better than Allen Iverson thats a little farfetch don't you think?

Gilbert Arenas can be a 25, 5 and 5 guy, is a good defender when he wants to, very good shooter, and is one of the quickest and fastest players in the league. He's also only 22 year's old, same age as Dwyane Wade. This would be a horrible deal for the Wizards, Iverson would stunt the development of Kwame, he would also hinder other players from developing. I also don't think Larry Hughes or Stackhouse want to see Iverson again. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">This is a joke right. Hold on let me laugh. The ball runs through Divac, Brad Miller and Webber in Sac Town, its obvious Bibby won't get as many dimes. When he's running the O, he averages 8-9 assists a game. Francis was never been knows as the best passing PG, and Billups hasn't even passed 6 assists a game in his career. Those 2 guys are scoring PG's, and even then don't handle the ball as much as AI. I don't think Arenas will have all the accomplishemnts, but if I was the Sixers I would do the deal because Arenas can be good and you get a pick too. But if I was the Wizards, and as a Wizards fan, I say no, bad deal I wouldn't want to lose what Arenas' could be and get an older guy that won't help the teams growth at all while also losing a draft pick.
one thing that has been prominent in all of the wizards fans arguments is that he CAN BE good. H has not proven that he will be a good player in the future. i garantee you that if you ask all the GM's in the league, the majority will say that arenas i being payed way too much. what does him being the same age as dwayne wade have to do wih anything at all finally, this years draft is sucks...no point in getting onw this year

AND YES IVERSON IS MORE OF A PASSER IM NOT DEBATING THAT. IM DEBATING THE FACT THAT YOU PEOPLE USE STATS AS COMPARISIONS
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">what does him being the same age as dwayne wade have to do wih anything at all</div> He's been in the league three years and is the same age as a pretty young rookie, so he has a lot of room for potential, and if he was healthy all year this year he would have averaged 20-5 and 5, I don't see how that's bad. Even then he was very close anyways with 19-4-5
