Where does he rank on the all-time list of NBA players?
He is 2nd with most points in a career
2x MVP
11x all NBA First-team
3x all NBA Defensive team
14x Allstar
NBA record for consecutive seasons with 2,000+ points(11 seasons)
Tied Kareem-Abdul Jabar with most seasons scoring 20.0ppg(17 consecutive seasons)
NBA All time leader in Free Throws
7th Alltime in rebounds

He is def. not one of my favorite players, I have always hated everything about him because he plays so dirty, but you have to respect what he has done ON THE COURT. I think he is defineatly top 10, possibly top 5.

Opinions?

I've never really cared to much for his game ither. But he has put up alot of numbers over his career and has been an ironman until this season for a long time. I use to get irritated with his trying to take the contact to go to the freethrow line and really even try to make the shot. He isn't really getting away with that since his game has gone down this year.

As far as his ranking, yeah he is in the top 10. But not top 5, MJ, Wilt, Bill Russell, The Big O, and Kareem are my top 5. Then Magic and Bird. Malone is probaly the 10th player of all-time.

I think Malone is top 10, but i do not put him in the top 5. Others may or may not say he is. Malone has given up a lot this year just to win a championship. And although his numbers have gone down, and for good reason, he still runs the floor like a 26 year old power forward. He is probably in my opinion top 2 in the power forward position of all time. Here si my top 10 list to show where malone is at for me.
1.Michael Jordan
2.Wilt Chamberlain
3.Bill Russell
4.Kareem Abdul Jabbar
5.Oscar Robertson
6.Jerry West
7Magic Johnson
8Larry Bird
9.Karl Malone
10.Hakeem Olajuwan

Malone also makes my personal top 10 all time list, I'd probably put him around 7 or so. I admit I wasn't too big on him either before he came to L.A. because I never got to see him, but I've always respected his desire to win.

Malone is definitely top 10 for me. Possibly top 5, who knows. But, he has done so many great things on the court. He is near the top in a lot of statstical categories, plus, the fact that he's been healthy almost his entire career is amazing.

He's not in my top ten, but he will move up a few notches if he gets a ring this year. I really think you need a ring to validate being in the top 10. If a player is great and has equal stats to their peers, but still don't have a ring, I would have to hold it against them.

Hes helping us and we shouldnt care for anything else now [IMG]

There were some many great players so i cant say that Malone is in my top 10.
My List:

1.Michael Jordan
2.Kareem Abdul Jabbar
3.Jerry West
4.Wilt Chamberlain
5.Magic Johnson
6.Bill Russell
7.Oscar Robertson
8.Larry Bird
9.Charles Barkley
10.Hakeem Olajuwan

To me Karl Malone is a great player and love to see him in action but sometimes I hate he is so dirty. Perhaps show some more respect to other players. Like the Lakers-Kings game last time. I thought I saw him giving a hand to Brad Miller who was on the floor and pulling it back at the last second. Thats not right. But I think perhaps Malone is my number 11.

Larry Bird on 8th. He should at least be on 3rd. As far as Karl Malone, I'm not that much of a big fan of him either, but he cloud be on the end of the Top 5 list. Hes a pretty great achiever. But still like everone as they get old they are not as good as before.

Well less see u got into the NBA and average his numbers in your 40's. It hard for you to expect a palyer to keep up those kinda numbers into his late year old age is the best defense there is.

As for Karl i haven't like him since he busted Isiah's eye. But i would but him around 10-15 just becuase he's has no ring but he can easily be top ten with a ring becuase he has had a winning record.

Not a fan of Malone and never will be. Don't think he Top 10 and never should be. I know he wouldn't have gotten that many pts if it wasn't for Stockton. He was the master of the pick and roll but couldn't really create his own shots. He a solid player but IMO he's quite overrated. Anyone who deserves to be on any Top 10 list should be able to win a ring on your own. But I really do think he deserves to be placed on the Top 3 dirtiest players list. I mean he has a solid resume for it. Isaiah's scar on his forehead...Dirks broken tooth....Steve Nash's bloody mouth...backhanding Laettner...Bashing Brent barry's nuts...Nachbar's almost fell to his death when Karl subtley moved his hip to undercut him. The list is too long.

[IMG] Over dramatizing that Nachbar's situation a tad. But the one I remember most was when he knocked out David Robinson. The ppl's I know that hates Malone is both of my nephews. They hate Malone so much that when they play with a legend team in 2k4, they sub Moses Malone out and never play him just cause they hate that name Malone. It's ridiculous but [IMG] as hell.

yea, i remember that play...Robinson got the foul called on him too lol, he foulded Malone on the elbow with his head...

I think Malone statistically has to be the greatest PF to even play the game...he is certainly up their top 15 all-time (all positions) IMO

[IMG] I can't stop laughing. This is the first time I literally loled. I forgot that they called a foul on Robinson. That's jacked up, calling a foul on someone who got knocked the fudge out.

Karl had a great career and always put up the numbers but where was he when his team needed him most in the playoffs? no where. He always choked when the game was on the line, John Stockton was always the guy who had to do it all to make up for Karl's dissapearing act. Personally I don't even consider Karl the best PF ever to play the game, that honor goes to Tim Duncan. He has proven to score when his team needed it and has the championships to prove it, lets not forget the numbers.

Karl Malone=great career but not a true leader and winner
