That's it. That's all I'm looking forward to," Thomas said Wednesday. "What's been done to me is going to be done to them. It's very simple."</div> <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">"When I was laying on the floor, I was expecting somebody to do something, to push, to shove, anybody. But it never happened," Thomas said. "In that situation you have to respond. You have to, that's the bottom line. "For it to go down that way and for nobody to really respond, I'm just waiting for somebody to do something."</div> damn...
Is that a threat? If he should hit anybody it should be K-Mart,he deserves it.But I hope he doesnt really hurt somebody because those statements could be used against him.
Tim Thomas will be watched very closely by the refs now. Not a good move on his part. I was suprised that none of his teamates stepped up though when he was thrown to the ground, just seemed like they didn't care. Mutombo is the only one playing aggressive for the Knicks, they need to start knocking the Nets to the ground.
Yeah maybe Tim Thomas isn't liked by the Knicks or something or his teammates were afraid to do anything because it might cost them the series. Wait.... forget that last sentence. Anyway, I think Tim Thomas made a mistake saying those words because the refs and the league will be all over him if he does do anything serious the next game. However, he was justified in being angry since nobody on his own team stood up to protect him. Anyone that's ever played team sports could imagine this feeling of being betrayed, because if your own teammates don't have your back what's the point of "team". Hell if I were him, I'd be like screw all you guys, see if I come help out when somebody knocks your ass on the hardwood whether it be intentional hard foul or flagrant foul. Teammates have to back each other up if they're going to be playing as a team.
Those comments will almost certainly be reviewed by the league. I would expect a fine coming soon for Mr. Thomas.
Well he still hasn't choked Ray Allen like promised, either. A wannabe tough guy - hard fouls happen, it's called playoff basketball. Time for Thomas to swallow his pride and get his revenge by playing hard and putting up numbers, the last thing the Knicks need is a stupid act from TT and getting himself ejected.
From a playing standpoint, it was immesely stupid to say those things. Not only are the league and officials now going to be closely scrutinizing his play, but the media frenzy on this will surely be a distraction for his team, even in NY. If you want revenge, you don't tell the people you're going after about it ahead of time, that's just plain dumb. This type of stuff separates the real bad boys from the OG wannabes. Real bad boys take thier venganece in silent satisfaction. They don't run thier mouth to every tom, dick and harry with a mic about how they are going to return the favor.
I hate when players act like this. Just get over it. It happened 2 games ago. Hitting someone on the court will just get you thrown out and you won't be helping your team. The New York fans are happy to see the Knicks back in the playoffs and don't want to see that chance ruined because some player feels he needs to get revenge. They're adults. This sounds like childs play.
TT has a right to be mad. I thought at least starbury would step up and do something. Him lashing out in oublic is gonna bite him in the ass later. If he does anything involving volience he gonna be fined something nasty for trying to be a fugazy himself.
All I have to say is that "Hollow vessels make the most noise". Tim Thomas saying this to the media is just plain dumb, this guy is not going to lift a finger to anyone. If he does it will be a light shove or two, nothing serious. He's as soft as a pancake and for him to come out and start threatening people is useless. If KMart had a problem with someone he wouldn't bitch to the media, he would make sure that when the next game comes he will feel it. Now TT has put all of this pressure on himself in the next game to live up to his words. Not a good move.
Martin wears tabloid back page on his jersey at practice <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post"> EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) -- Kenyon Martin taped the back page of a newspaper with the headline "Whiny Tim" to his practice jersey Thursday before his New Jersey Nets' Game 3 against the New York Knicks. Martin also mocked and challenged Knicks forward Tim Thomas, who criticized his own teammates and called Martin a phony tough guy a day earlier. "He knows I'm going to be there at 7 o'clock tonight," Martin said. "He knows where to find me. ... Lock me and him in a room together and see who comes out."</div> Link
Thats what I'm sayin......damn KMart, why you got to be so mean?? This is how the toughest SOB in the NBA (other than Artest) reacts. TT better show his gonads in game 3 or he will be branded as a ***** for life by basketball fans all across North America. Happy game 3.
tt has become an underacheiving joke. first off, kmart doesnt deserve anything. he didnt even foul tt, it was jason collins. all kmart does is produce #, play defense and win, and of course celebrates as he is allowed to since nets have owned the knicks. i thought there would be a chance that s.jackson would suspende tt for the series or a game. saying that you want to just get on the court to hurt someone is assault. this is going to help to end his career from a respect standpoint. if i was a knicks fan, i would be embarrassed that this is crying is going on. its the knicks for christsake. that franchise has history and respect, tt is not making that franchise look good right now. i hope isiah and lenny talk to him and teach him what the playoffs and basketball means. isiah should tell him how hard the fouls were back in the bad boys days. if tt needs a hard foul to get him motivated to do something on the court, then he will have a long career on the bench. btw. being a tough sob in the league isnt a bad thing. being a dirty player is a bad thing. kmart is not that.
These ones right on the money. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">If you take a poll around the league and asked people who they want on their team, they're not going to say Tim Thomas. Teammates never questioned how hard I played," Martin said. "They know what they're going to get out of me when I step on the court. I'm not like Pandora's box -- you open it up and don't know what you're going to get. That's him.</div> <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">If it was coming from someone who did something in his career, maybe," Martin said. "Coming from him, it's nothing.</div> <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Martin was surprised Thomas would make such inflammatory comments on the eve of a game he wasn't planning to play in. "He's a career underachiever. He hasn't done nothing in his career. I've been to the finals twice," Martin said. "His teammates in Milwaukee last year questioned him. That should tell you something right there. Sooner or later his teammates now are going to start questioning him calling people out when he's not playing.</div>
TT is a complete moron, I am liking the trade of him more and more every day. He is the only guy I know that wants to hurt Ray Allen. KMart isn't too bright either, heck he went to Cincy, he was the moron that called out Dez Mason
haha...finally some drama to make this series interesting. You know I will be watching the game tonight after this type of hype.
The comments made by Tim Thomas are horrible. But you got to remember where he grew up, Patterson,NJ that is a very tough place to live so the comments he made are out of what he thinks is the right the thing to do.

I'm not saying they should have started a fight, but you have to defend your teamates. I know for me and my team, if someone throws a teamate of mine on the ground, you are going to hear it from me or another teamate. That is what being a team is all about. A lot of you say he should forget about it because its "playoff basketball". Thats BS. I agree that play gets more physical in the postseason as it should be, but it doesn't mean you let your player be thrown to the ground. With that said, Thomas should have never made those comments to the media. It would be one thing to keep it within the team and tell them, but to tell the media is just stupid.

Just like baseball, your batter gets intentionally hit by the opposing pitcher you go out and hit one of his. In basketball if the opposing PF knocks your guy to the floor,on the opposite end you put that cat on his ass. It's not about violence it's about having your teams back and showing the other team that you mess with one with mess with all. When you have solidarity like that other times are less likely to respond physically. For examples look at the Pat Riley Knicks and the Bad Boy Pistons. They were team, you knocked one of them down they knocked two of you down. True they were all rough teams, but they were just that a T-E-A-M and other teams were reluctant to mix it up like that.
