I don't think his size is nearly the problem the anti-Okur people make it out to be. He's 6-11, 250, roughly the same size as Murphy. The difference between the two is that Okur is a better low post defender and shot blocker. Okur has always reminded me of a shorter, more athletic version of Sabonis.

While acquiring Okur may seem like a duplication of a player (Murphy), which I'm normally totally against, this is an example of when it can work. I'm more than willing to take the chance that either Murphy or Okur will eventually be strong enough to play center.

The Warriors have a big advantage on most of the other teams that will be potentially pursuing Okur, and that's Clifford Robinson. Who better to evaluate Okur's potential than Robinson. My guess is that if they go after Okur, they go after him hard, and its because Robinson says he's legit.

Well Cliffy oughta know his old teammates. I love Cliff. His shooting is not a problem for me because they're open looks and its what's expected of a perimeter player in the likeness of other 3 point shooting big men like Pat Garrity, Robert Horry, and Antoine Walker. Most importantly, he fulfills the role of being the lockeroom leader and one of the great defenders in the league. Something the franchise has needed for the longest time. Defense and leadership! Jamison was the antithesis of both.
