I was just curious as to what people would think of Antoine Walker possibly going to Houston. Now I know it may be a long shot, but Dallas is likely to be moving Walker and I'm sure Houston has enough big bodies (Cato, Taylor, Weatherspoon, etc.) to fill Dallas's void in that department. Than you may ask, why would Houston want Walker when they have Yao Ming. However, that's exactly my reason. Antoine Walker would help Yao Ming's game tremendously. Walker's threat as a three point shooter would open up the floor, forcing opposing power fowards out of the low post, leaving plenty of room for Yao Ming to operate. It will allow Yao to go one on one against his defender, a match that Yao Ming is bound to win 90% of the time. It also eliminates weak side shot blocking, so that would no longer be a worry for Yao. Francis and Mobley would also benefit from Walker's three point presense. Opposing power fowards would be forced out of the low post, opening up driving lanes for these two. Francis has proved to be a great slasher over his career, and he would become that much more dominate with no shot blocker to worry about under the basket. Just an idea, I defintely think Houston could benefit if somehow they could make a deal with Dallas and aquire Antoine this summer...
i doubt it. first, if houston wants a 3 point shooter then they would go get glen rice or something. they wouldnt need walker, a guy with such a large contract. second, i doubt the mavs would take clarence weatherspoon for walker and i doubt dallas would offer mo taylor or especially kelvin cato.
I don't see it happening. First of all there is Walkers huge contract. Second of all other than 3 pointers, Walker operates in the Post most of the time. He would be taking a lot of Yao's shots away (He operates mainly in the post) and thats something that I don't think Houston wants to do.
I too would doubt it-Walker is not the defender that JVG wants at the position, plus he needs the ball in order to be effective...a PF who JVG would be looking for would be someone like Brian Grant, PJ Brown, etc....

Personally... i see Houston as (generally) a tight ship. Other than Francis' occasional lapse... JVG likes to keep it HIS tight ship, and wherever Walker has landed, he's tried to steer the course (come on man, stop handling the ball so damn much). Oh yeah, and all those role players' (Cato, Taylor, etc etc) salaries wouldn't even come CLOSE to Walker's contract... whether it's value... or dollars... it just doesn't make sense.
Deception did you take that out of the top of your head or is that a rumor on the web? Cause if it's a rumor it's a damn interesting one, If the bulls do trade Chandler who they trade Elton Brand away for and Davis they would get 'Toine Walker a big man who likes to run the show....... That wouldnt be all that bad for Chi-Town that's probably what they need. And about 'Toine going to the Rockets it could happen if Salary Cap worked out or else no.

yeah if they want walker they are goin to have to trade kevin cato for walker and i'm not to sure that dallas will like that because they will be getting rip off.

Because Dallas has to much offense, it would be good for them to have a legadiment shot blocker and a role player. Having 5 big time scorers is hard to mesh those type of players. They do need a defensive role player.
Antoine Walker to Houston wouldnt work good with the system, like I said before he likes to run the show and Yao Ming is there main man. 'Toine jacks up too many unneeded 3 pointers. Dallas wouldnt take that deal no way, no how. Kelvin Cato is a good player, defensive minded too but 'Toine is a lot better.

Not another person with bad shot selection. All we need is another turnover ballhog machine. Francis already handles that department well by himself. The only decent thing which would be obtained from him is his rebounding ability. He only does that when he feels like it. So if not, he'd just be a waste. About the rebounding comment, picture him as KVH.
Not going to happen. Houston already has Francis. Houston wants to build around Ming and Walker would hurt that, not help that. I see Walker either staying in Dallas or moving to a team like Charlotte. I would be surprised if he is protected in the Expansion draft.
if walker became a FA could he drop his base contract salery and go to the bobcats the bobcats need a starting franchise player
I could actually picture Walker in Charlotte for some reason...a player like him would probably fit in fine on the Bobcats.
