<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">DENVER -- Minnesota forward Wally Szczerbiak is expected to be out for at least the rest of the Timberwolves' playoff series against Denver after cracking three vertebrae in his back. Szczerbiak was injured in the fourth quarter of the Nuggets' 107-86 victory Saturday when he was fouled from behind by Chris Andersen and landed on his back. Tests on Monday showed cracks on the wings of three vertebrae.</div> Link Wally will be out for the rest of the series and that will be a big loss for the Twolves. They already lost Troy to injuries. But he might come back after the series against the Nuggets. The team loses their best shooter in the bench. The other players in the bench like Olowokandi will need to play a big role to help the team win.
I talked about this in another thread. This is a major blow to the Wolves. They need to end this series as soon as possible before any other big injuries happen while playing around with the Nuggets. The good thing is I think the Kings/Mavs are going to go 7 games so that give Wally a long time to rest. But the Wolves need to get this 1st round over with. Kandiman needs to step his game up. Fred Hoiberg & Sam have to regain their shooting touches. And if I was coach Flip I would try to find some time to try & insert Gary Trent back into the lineup. But if it doesnt work then get him out the game as soon as possible. But Gary Trent has always been an offsensive player. And the Wolves need to find away to get scoring out of their 2nd unit. It wouldnt shock me tho, to see the big 3 play over or around 40 minutes each on tuesday. The Wolves cant afford any scoring problems. All of a sudden this game 4 may have become a must win.
Yah, he is pretty much gone after this season. We don't want him here if he can't stay healthy. But that fall looked really bad, I would be surprised if he didn't show up injured. Hoiberg and Martin will have to show up big time, now. Trent will also get increased playing time.
Man that was one hard fall. I had heard about it but hadn't seen it until I saw a replay of it during the Sacramento - Dallas game. Should we really be expecting him back for the next series? I've read that he will miss the rest of this series, but it seemed pretty bad. Unless the Wolves get into the western confrence finals I can't see him being able to play another playoff game this season.
Yeah this is obviously going to hurt the T-Wolves bench production.I am suprised that Wally wasnt seriously injured after that fall. They will be lucky if he comes back 100% healthy.
Was he playing alright? I was glad to see his temper hold up and him trying hard. He never even complained. I feel he'll be staying now. That injury sure was bad though, he was real useful, it's a good thing we have Hoiberg, Spree and Cassell though, hopefully they can hold the arc up. Hoiberg, Hassell, Kandiman, KG and Casselll can handle the D themselves.
