Someone (possibly a lot of people) will label me a LeBron-hater for saying this but right here we have a good example of the intentional hype and marketing of LeBron James. In 2003 when the All-Rookie Teams were announced, the title stated that Yao and Amare lead the selections. And they did, both being the only unanimous selections. Here, however, three players received unanimous selections, and yet the title simply states that Lebron lead the selections. Call me a hater, delete my post, etc. if you will (and I know somebody will want to); just pointing out a fact. If you've read my previous posts on LeBron you'll know I don't hate the guy, however.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting ReRun:</div><div class="quote_post">chris bosh should not hav made the team.</div> Yeah I agree
Actually Chris Bosh did deserve to make it IMO. After LeBron Carmelo Wade and Kirk there aren't that many noteable players, I am happy with this team. Like I said about the All-NBA team I don't have any complaints on this year's selection. Good to see Wade get all the votes too, didn't expect that.
Personally I think that second team has great players. If they were in any other years draft those players would have been 1st team players. 2nd Team Josh Howard Marquis Daniels Jarvis Hayes Udonis Haslem TJ Ford
I fully agree with Animus, why would a headline be "LeBron James Leads NBA All Rookie Team" when he tied 2 other players? This IMO is being all the hype going into heads of media. Props to the selection team tho, great choices.
James good and all, but I think Anothony should of took tha MVP Award. He took his team to tha playoffs, something James couldnt do.
It has more to do with Lebron winning the rookie of the year award, so therefore leads the all rookie team. Last year they had Amare and Yao lead as the headline but I fail to see how It is suddenly about the media hype, It's just a new headline. Not big deal All good selections, for those two who said Bosh should not of made the team maybe you should check this stats 11 points 7 rebounds leads all rookies in rebounds and block shots, he was the best big man in the draft (in terms of producing straight away)
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting AllNet:</div><div class="quote_post">It has more to do with Lebron winning the rookie of the year award, so therefore leads the all rookie team. </div> So why didn't last year's headline read "Amare leads All-Rookie Team selections?" I don't recall him and Yao sharing the RoY award?
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting ANiMuS:</div><div class="quote_post">So why didn't last year's headline read "Amare leads All-Rookie Team selections?" Everyone knows Carmelo was just as deserving for the award but again It is just a title. It's not a big deal. They decided to change it to one player as the main attraction with the headline. They did the same two years ago.
It is evidence that favoritism for LeBron exists. I pointed it out to counter the claim by some Cavs fans that the notion is just the product of "haters being haters". That is all. <div class="quote_poster">Quoting AllNet:</div><div class="quote_post">They decided to change it to one player as the main attraction with the headline.
