What do ya'll think about Rex Chapman commentary? At first when I heard him speak I thought that it was a special guest appearance host Tim McGraw ro something. Then they showed him, and I was like oh Rex. I don't really wanna criticize him. I'm just having a hard time getting use to his country grammar.
The jury still out on him. 1) he's only been with TNT since the playoffs started. 2)I have only seen him do the series with knicks/Nets games. Those games were filled with former Suns players(Steph, J.Kidd, Penny, Rodney Rogers) & those seem like the only players he commented on. So he has to prove that he knows about more players then the ones he played with in PHX, or watched while checking out his former team. Just my opinion.
Haven't heard him yet. However, I will say that I was a fan of the player known as "The Rex-clamation point"!
Well he did the Miami Heat and Hornets game last night. Still he's so country sounding and it's akward to hear. I guess he just needs more time and he should be ok.
When I think of Rex, the first thing that comes to mind is his off balanced on the move 3point shot to win the game.
^Yeap, he had alot of those and my dad taped the 1991 dunk contest. He got robbed, he had some nice dunks at that time. The flip over the head to the other side of the rim and fade away dunk was nice.

Still haven't heard him commentate, but it wouldn't surprise me if he had a southern drawl. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The flip over the head to the other side of the rim and fade away dunk was nice</div> I believe you're referring to the dunk where he took the ball in his right hand, slung it under his left armpit and released it over his head to the other side of the rim for the finish? That was one of the most technically difficult dunks I've ever seen. Very good dunk.

I haven't seen any of the games where he has done commentary on. So, yea, I can't really have an opinion on him yet.
