<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Mr.Fundamentals:</div><div class="quote_post">bad guy of the year bruce bowen</div>If being a bad guy means you play amazing defense than yes, he deserves that award.
Soph Of The Year: Yao Ming. 4 more points averaged and 1 more rebound. Almost all his stats went up. Most importantly, his team made the playoffs.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Rudeezy:</div><div class="quote_post">If being a bad guy means you play amazing defense than yes, he deserves that award.</div> The second I read the initial post, i, too, thought Bowen was a clear cut favorite for Bad Guy... I respect his game from a defensive standpoint... but with all the bad pub this guy's been getting (and the legendary kung-fu kick on Wally World - can't remember when that was), supposedly injuring people on purpose (Vince and Ray Allen gave their piece)... i don't think anyone else comes close to this award (at least, for on-court actions). ... How about a "best dunker of the year award"? ...gotta go Desmond... in my opinion.

Season Fan Favorite Player of the Year Carmelo Anthony because he had more votes to get roy by fan voters.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Trip:</div><div class="quote_post">Soph Of The Year: Yao Ming. 4 more points averaged and 1 more rebound. Almost all his stats went up. He led jersey sales, and every basketball "fan" knew about him. Tons of people hopped on the bandwagon just this year in support of 'bron. He woulda got the award if it was real.

What exactly do you feel like Cassell came back from?

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Trip:</div><div class="quote_post">Haha, it's amazing what winning can do.</div> Not really, Cassell has always been on the + side of .500 In 98' he was the best player on the Nets, who made the playoffs with an above .500 record(43-39), when the East was still the dominate conference. They lost to the eventual world Champs(the Bulls) in the playoffs. But they stil had a great season. And Sam had a great year averaging 19.6 & 8 ast. Yet the media didnt care. And his 4(+) years with the Bucks were all above .500 seasons. And they made the playoffs every year except the 2001-2002 season. And they were still at .500 with a 41-41 record. So Cassell(not even including his years as the main backup for the Rockets during their championship Rockets) has had better records. And been in the playoffs alot more than some players that got the media attention over the years. So I think the lack of Media attention has to do with why people know very little about Sam. Not wins & losses.
breakthrough seasons: flip murray, jamaal magloire, zach randolph, mark blount, michael redd, damon jones best player nobody mentions: donyell marshall. 10th in the league in double doubles, 12th in the league in rebounds, 13th in the league in 3pt% (despite falling into a horrendous shooting slump the last few weeks of the season) 17th in the league in blocks (for a guy not known as a shot blocker, and not known for his D) . his line as a raptor: 16ppg 10.7 rpg 1.2 steals, 1.58 blocks. didnt miss a single game, and was playing hurt. the guy was a machine. never see his name mentioned, and its time he got some props. big up donyell feel good story of the year: demarr johnson. didnt put up any impressive numbers, but played, and didnt play half bad, after a horrid accident, and told he'd never play again. maximum boost to demarr. best returns from injury lamar odom. only missed 1 game and led his team to the playoffs, and a plus .500 record after a laughable start to the season. vince carter. only missed 9 games and put up 21, 5 and 5 (4.8 & 4.8 rounding up .4 total isnt much of a strech). penny hardaway. only missed 6 games, didnt start much, but was a solid bench player.
