I don't know if I can stand seeing him in black and white.. a part of me wants to blame him, hate him for leaving the lakers but at the same time, i know how little the lakers wanted to keep him. they barely offered him a deal. as a business, he made the right choice, trying to stick up for himself.

a part of me misses having him on our side. he was Mr. Clutch, second to Kobe and West (and Johnson) as the Lakers all time clutch player. he was so big and vital to everything the Lakers stood for: screw around, don't care about the regular season then turn it up a notch for the playoffs, deliver when it counts...

but now I dont know what to think when the lakers will play their first playoff game against him today. it's going to be tough to swallow. (he's been great for the spurs so far.)

i hope tho, horry doesn't hear any booing when he's playing in LA. I wouldn't want that cuz of what he has meant to the Lakers.

but what do you think? Conflicted and twisted with anguish about Horry too?

Yeap I feel the same way too. I loved Horry through his whole career and now he could be the Xfactor against us. Nooo!! But I to hope he doesn't get booed in L.A. either.

I felt the complete opposite from you guys. I hated watching Horry, and I think he is one of the most overrated players ever. He has always been praised for his defense, but that's what disgusts me the most. If you watch him in games, you'll notice that he doesn't even put his arms up most of the time. Whenever he pokes the ball out of someones hands out of bounds I used to always hear "Horry, such a great defender".. not true. Poking the ball OUT OF BOUNDS once a game doesn't make you a good defender.

He's also a very overrated shooter, he has shot horrible percentages with the Lakers, and even went somewhere in the lines of 1-30 in last year's playoffs. Yes he has hit some big time clutch shots and ofcourse I'll give him that, but if he could make a couple of more shots he should have made during games, maybe teams wouldn't be in that position?

I have nothing against Horry, I just hate seeing how overrated he is. I know by making these comments I will get a lot of replies that argue about what I said, but that's just my opinion.

Get ready Horry, you're going to have to play your "good defense" against Shaq and Karl. I'm sure you can handle them [IMG]

I was good defender with the Rockets and as far as the Lakers go. I can't really remember any type of defensive plays he made. If there was, it was severly overshadowed by that big 3 he hit against the Kings 2 years ago. That's all that was really talked about. I don't remember ever hearing anything about his defense in L.A.

Well they didn't talk about it a whole lot, but whenever the big named PFs came into town they'd always mention how he did a good job on him in certain games.. They always seemed to talk about how he played such "good defense" on Webber a couple of years back..

Oh I don't remember that. I was working during almost all of their playoff games during the 2k2 playoffs. The only game I seen was when Horry hit that big shot and Divac saying it was luck.

I never thought Horry would contribute the way he has already in a Spurs uniform here in the playoffs. I thought he was washed up, finished after last years performance. It is almost like he has new life and is young again. He is exceeding the Spurs expectations and he is playing a lot of quality minutes in the clutch. It will be fun to watch him against his former team.

The main reason Horry went to a Texas team was to be closer to his ill daughter. After the Lakers got Malone and Payton, there wasn't much money or need to bring Horry back to the Lakers. He still gets cheers when he plays at the Staples center. This year he got a standing ovation in the first game in Los Angeles. The majority of Laker fans still appreciate what Horry has done in the clutch. It would be nice to still have him on the team, but Horry has always put basketball second to his family and personal life. So you can't blame him for his decision to sign with the Spurs. I have a lot of respect for Horry, but I do want to see him fail miserably against us in this series.

Horry has exceeded what anyone has expected from him so far in the playoffs and has done a good job on yes, "defense". I would just love it if the fans once again gave him a standing ovation for what he has done for Los Angeles.

I think last year horry played terrible because he was worn out. In the past, phil always liked to keep him on the bench so he would be fresh for the playoffs but last year, he was forced to start most of the time and play a lot of minutes.
Horry was and still is one of my favorite players. Even when he went to the spurs, I couldnt bring myself to hate the man. He has made so many big shots for us over the years. Once you think he is dead, he just comes alive in crunchtime

Exactly lakeshow. He was worn out in his final year at LA. He's always been the guy to coast thru the regular season and then get down to business in the playoffs.

I love Horry...a true Laker fan will always remember & appreciate his playoff heroics. But the fact is the Lakers didn't pick him up and Horry is happy to be in a good role on the Spurs and playing close to home to be with his sick daughter.

That'd be some crazy ish if this series goes to SA 2-2 and Robert Horry hits the game-winner on LA in Game 5... wow the irony.

Its a weird feeling seeing him playing against the lakers or even hitting the clutch.
I would hate him if hed hit the winning ball in the last game cause i never "liked" him that much. I appreciate what hes done for la thats true, but i couldnt accept him helping Spurs to win the Lakers, sorry.

After a whole year hearing the Lakers will miss Horry/are missing Horry, he's come out to be a total non-factor in the Laker-Spurs series. He's averaged 1 PPG... on 10% shooting.. He also missed the whole rim in game 5 on a clutch 3pointer btw [IMG]

We're not Sacramento fans. I can appreciate what Horry's done for LA, all the big shots he's hit. Horry's never produced big numbers in his career. But he's always had a propensity to hit the big shot when it counted. But fans will always be more loyal to the jersey than the players.
