Instead of having a pointless event with the retired players or WNBA players, they should have fans vote for 1 vs 1 games. Ex. Kobe vs T-Mac Garnett vs Duncan Marbury vs Alston Shaq vs Yao Throughout the year the fans vote for the two players (that play a similar position) that they most want to see go at it. One game each u to 11 points win by two. This would draw alot of attention and ratings. It would also help end some controversy on "Who's the better Player." Do you think this would be a good idea? Would you look foward to watching it?
Basketball is a team sport, One on One won't prove anything. The events that they have a real good but that would be real good at the same time it would still be pointless.
They should change the slam dunk contest rules, no more of those rising stars rule, there should be more than four players, no more Ricky Davis or Chirst Anderson. And players like Kobe, T-Mac and Vince(if he can still jump), and LeBron are require to join the slam dunk. They should have atleast eight players. Kobe, T-Mac, Vince, Jason Richardson, LeBron, Desmon Mason, JR Smith and Freddy Jones, and the judges for the slam dunk contest should not be Magic, Kareem, they cant dunk, ask MJ, Dr. J to judge the contest.
The Dunk Contest hasn't been the same since 2000 with Vince Carter, Tracy McGrady and Steve Francis. I think they should make players do it, to help promote the league. People like dunks, and having a great dunk contest could attract new fans.
In an older issue of SLAM, Kenny Smith put out the idea of having fans vote for who should be in the dunk contest . He also had an idea of having a million dollar prize for 1st place only. I like both of those ideas because: 1. no player worth respect would want to disappoint there fans, 2. any body would like to have 1 million more dollars, even if they're already rich. Also, I would like the NBA to take a hint from MLB and make the winner of the all-star game have home-court advantage in the finals. This would make the game a little more competitive. And please make a rule that the commentators cannot tell us fifteen times that the fourth quarter is when the "competitive drive of these finely-tuned athletes starts to shine." We heard you the first time!!! You don't have to say it after every play!!! AAARGHHH!!

I doubt a player like Kobe, or Tracy, or anyone would go out there, and risk the chance of being embarressed. No.
